Solved Can \\ into network computer but not showing up in explorer\network

I gave up on fixing seeing network computers in File Explorer a long time ago. Instead, I use network shortcuts. This always works!

For example the shortcut to computer DarkMatter is \\DarkMatter.



To keep up with these I have a folder on my desktop called My Network. In this folder I have the network computer shortcuts. Once I create this folder with the shortcuts I copy it onto the desktop of every other computer.

That's the only approach that always works for me.

Yes \\computer_name\Works_for_me
But I want things to work like they should and Microsoft hosed it all up with their so called security update....

you should try keeping macOS and Win11 network discovery working properly with all of the updates in the last 2 years lol. gets more and more fun every few months

Yes don't we all. But that's not what we have with recent editions of windows. "Should" is a word that will cause much frustration with Windows.
