Can you look in the bios, that’ll tell you for sure if it’s an Optane system

The manual says Optane H10, I wasted a day on it today so maybe I won't be dual booting

At the end of the day trying to install on a partition with a usb and adding the drivers won't hose up anything other than your target partition, if it proves a challenge then nothing is lost, just image back to original

EDIT** Looking around the intyweb and it can be done using the VMT drivers on a usb

You are going to need two things:
1. A standard Windows 11 installation USB flash drive.
2. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drivers for optane saved onto a USB flash drive.

Intel Support

Intel® Customer Support home page

www.intel.com

Boot the computer from the Windows 11 installation USB flash drive.
Select language, keyboard.
Click don't have a product key (if you need to)
Select the edition of Windows 11 you want to install (if you need to)
Select the Custom Install option
If the next screen shows no drives or partitions, then select the option to install driver, install the IRST drivers.
Now you should get a list of disks and partitions. Select the partition or unallocated space you want to install to.
Click next.

The problem was the drivers were missing as you told me and the step by step guide and supplied links from @NavyLCDR made it so easy, it worked first time Big thanks to all

I am so grateful as you pointed me in the right direction, and then the step by step sorted it. I didn't realise how much setting up I have to do now!!
My boot menu showed the new operating system as default and my 11 setup as 10 as it was from an upgrade so I downloaded EasyBCD from techspot.com and sorted it all out

I prefer to inject my optane drivers into boot.wim and install.wim before installation.

Without installing from boot.wim, I cannot see the optane drive from the windows installation menu. However, if you do not inject into boot.wim, you can manually add the driver from the installation menu as @NavyLCDR describes.

As an aside, I use dism to install OS as dual boot rather than booting from a usb drive, or running the iso from Windows.

I have a batch file that does it all in one go, creating a dual boot vhd. With a small modification, it would install to a new formatted partition.

edit: did small mod and it worked great.

YAY! I've been following this, since I normally dual boot on most of my systems.

I was getting ready to ask about clean installing both . . . That's normally what I do.

I was wondering if there was any way I can access my files from the other OS as I can see them in Explorer.
All is good and working well, one thing Bit Locker encrypted the drive during installation.

I don't use B/L at all, just turn it off. All my files that I need are on one drive so I can access them from any of the 3 OS's I have
