control-p repair

control-p will not p-rint, any advice?

It seems to me, that you should at least specify from what program you are trying to use the Control-P combination.
And maybe it would help, if you mention if it has functioned before or not, if you changed anything to the basics of the system, if you recently installed a new program or an update.

Does the control key on your keyboard function?
You might test that by opening a text editor, using CTRL C to copy some words and CTRL V to paste that text somewhere else.
