Dell Support Assist & Dell PC Software for Dell Inspiron One 2020


I only have the problem with Canary Build 27823.1000, never had any issues with any 24H2 Builds. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️
Weird, Microsoft specifically said the probem is supposeḍ to only happen in 24H2 Beta 26120.3863 in the release notes. It was not mentioned as a problem in other builds. Some people have problems with HP Smart, mines works fine. Spotify did have the problem which was fixed I think yesterday without doing anything. Dell Support Assist was the other one as everyone else had the problem in the Beta thread. Basically, this is 2 below and Microsoft's fix is to uninstall 26120.3863 and go back to the Beta build before. 1 is basically the problem with the Weather app which appears to be fixed when I just checked.

So your Support Assist was actually working on 24H2 Beta 26120.3863?

Yes, it was fine. The crash was and is only with Canary.
The Weather opening on an empty page is also happening on the same Canary Machine and also still on one machine with Build 26120.3872.

That's interesting as the first person who reported the Dell Support Assist problem was in this comment on the 26120.3863:

Both of us were the only ones who reported the problem on Feedback hub about Dell Support Assist, mines was about 26120.3863 and yours was about Canary but I believe you said your problem started on April 12, 2025 if I remember correctly. Microsoft never responded unlike the Spotify report where they said they were looking into it. Maybe they are A/B testing/disabling as since many years ago, I know they can disable things. When Windows 11 was still in Beta, they were able to disable the Start Menu and Explorer from running and ofcourse they killed touchscreens and touchpad's with the Beta build right before 26120.3863 that they fixed on their side. Even for the Weather app problem, there is no updates in Microsoft Store so it was also something they fixed on their side.

Just got S.A. 4.8.2 on a Vostro 3400 from Oct. '21. Win11 Version 24H2 Build 26100.3775. Running checks, seems to be okay but did take twice opening to get it fully open.

Yes, it works fine on 26100.3775, the problem with the crash is on Canary Build 27823.
