Desktop won't appear in quick access

I have followed the tutorial in this forum (Clear and Reset Quick Access Folders in Windows 11 Tutorial) to clear and reset quick access through File Explorer (more than once to make sure it wasn't user error). Unfortunately, all of the folders - Downloads, Documents, Pictures, Music, and Videos - show up except Desktop.

This is a new computer I am setting up and all of the data from my other computer, including "desktop" has been successfully transferred to it and appears under "users."

Since I am just getting started with this, I didn't notice whether "desktop" ever appeared in quick access; I just noticed when it didn't.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

If you don’t want to see any other folder in Quick Access other than what you have pinned (save having to clear or reset Quick Access) scroll down to “Option Three” in Brinks tutorial and turn off “Show frequently used folders”

I am still moving down the thread post by post but haven't found a solution yet. Still, I appreciate the time everyone takes to try to help others figure these things out. Maybe if one of you takes up knitting I can return the favor.

In the meantime, I have now remembered something I misstated before. I’ve had this computer less than a week, but at one time the Desktop folder did appear under Quick Access. I remember that because when I clicked on that Desktop folder, it appeared empty so I went down to the Desktop folder under my username to make sure that my data files had transferred, which they had. I don’t know why the Desktop folder in Quick Access did not have any data in it.

As you can see, my username is also in Quick Access which seems odd. I clicked on that folder out of curiosity and got the screenshot attached showing two desktop folders. Could one of those desktop folders be what should be in the Quick Access location?

I tried to copy and paste the username Desktop folder into the Quick Access folder and was not able to. Neither could I pin the visible Desktop folder into Quick Access.

But I am still trying the various ideas and am grateful for everyone’s time.
