You can always use the 'but someone may abuse the power' as a canard to avoid answering the question. This question is framed as LEGAL access not illegal abuse.

I have no problem with the concept of cloud storage when it truly is my cloud. When my data is on someone else's computer it isn't mine anymore. My data is on their cloud that they generated to acquire other peoples data. I'm old school. In my day anecdotes were a thing. Peculiar clichés like "possession is nine tenths of the law" carry weight with me. So do verbose statements such as "You will own nothing and be happy." Other concepts such as "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve Microsoft..." Okay, maybe not that one. But you get the general idea.

I have enough personal compute to take care of my own. One Drive is far too invasive for my liking. To each their own. Whether GOOGLE or Göbbels the old 'nothing to fear, nothing to hide' argument does not wash with me. I tend to sympathize more with Edward Snowden's line of thinking. One need not look that far back in recent annals of history to learn that data isn't really all that safe with these data bases that offer to keep your data for you. I will give Microsoft credit however for choosing Linux. That in itself speaks volumes. :cool: And yes, my tin foil hat fits me just fine!

I am not sure of what you're getting at here, if your data is not on a server off premise, it isn't on a cloud, it is on your own personal data storage.

You don't know what I believe about anything, so just stop with that. I never said anything about only needing to know how to fix it.

You said, "Here's the problem in a nutshell:" and then explained the automatic folder redirection with which so many people have a legitimate issue. I want to know how that is relevant to OneDrive logs filling up a drive. The OP never said anything along the lines of their folders were redirected and they didn't need/want/like it. So that's not the cause of the problem.

Naaw. It's my network, my storage, my server, my cloud. You may not agree with my definition but it makes more sense than someone telling me that my data on their computer is really mine. The reality is that once that data is on their computer it becomes their property. Time and time again that has been proven. GOOGLE proves it consistently.
