It will have to fit in your second PCIe x16 slot. (PCIE16_2 on the motherboard). Keep in mind that using this card may affect the bandwidth of your GPU's PCIe connector. Check your motherboard manual to find out.

Thank you @Catnip, I was hoping I had a plan C-D alternative but I think @bobkn has answered it.

The feasibility of coming off the back of PC USB C port with a cable, through the PC and connect to the hub cable in question, never occured to me it might not me a charging USB C.

So expansion card or leave it, hmm.

That's an adapter from the USB 3.0 (port 8, in post 158).

The hub already has a connector that'd use it. For two Type A ports.

I suppose that "Jaylob4" could use that, plus a USB2 to USB3 adapter. No charging, though, if he wants that.

1 )It would appear due to my lack of knowledge, I can't connect the USB C cable from the front hub to a header on my MB as there isn't one.

2) Even If I could it might not do what I had planned, to charge a device/cell phone off the front port, not a problem I have other means of doing this.

There's another option, that just occurred to me.

USB Type C male to USB Type E female adapter. https://www.amazon.com/rgzhihuifz-E...cphy=1014673&hvtargid=pla-2334475572934&psc=1

You'd plug it into the rear USB C port, and plug the front panel cable for USB E into it. (I didn't know that connector was designated as E.) You might need a USB C extension cable.

It's a bit of a kludge, but it wouldn't require an add-in card.

But it won't get you USB-C charging. Your motherboard doesn't support that.

It's my stupid fault, I thought USB C port at back of PC or in the front hub would be charging ports.

phone will charge using usb3 gen1 ( which is also known as usb3.0 ). that is what i do. not superfast but it does the job.

usb A to C adapter usually comes with phones. plug the A end into any of the blue ports.

If you havent got an A to C adapter they are easily found. People use them for all sorts of things like those vape mods can be charged using the normal usb3 ports ( usually blue)

The special usb C charge ports ( that you apparently dont have ) do the charging more quickly, but who cares.

I never charge anything off a PC port, fast or slow.

If your motherboard has a single USB 3.0 header, you need something like that to get two headers, and then connect the USB 3.0 cable from the panel to one and the adapter (see my previous post) to the other and finally the Type C cable from the panel.

Apologies late in replying, got a bit involved in my other thread.

Both your solutions for USB C should work for the front Hub, what I'm not sure of is if the the front USB C port is data only or charging and data.

What I do know is the rear USB C port is both charging and data.

Meanwhile had my PC on the kitchen table fitting new front/rear Port Hubs and thought I would take the opportunity to replace both case fans.

Front fan, ( 4 pin ), connects directly to the MB, ( ASUS TUF B550 Plus wifi ll ), but can't find a 2nd header to power another fan, is there one?

My old fans had Molex connectors so no issue connecting to PSU, but it doesn't have 4 pin connector/s to connect a 2nd fan to.

Yes I know that but was hoping there was a spare one on the MB I had missed/couldn't see, instead of adding more cables.

The inside of my PC can not be called cable tidy.

Thank you, this connector fits the header circled in green on MB, to the best of my knowledge it does not fit any circled in Red.

I don't control my fan speeds, I turn PC on and they spin happily, full throttle.
