Help with motherboard cable?

Hi, my front panel LED cable is too short. I'm wondering where I can get a cable extender for it?

The cable head has measurements of:
6mm width
6mm height with the 2 ridges
5mm height without ridges
4mm between holes

That is a rare bird, I don't remember ever seeing one. Your easiest option would be to cut it about 2" from the plug and add some extra wire. It is low voltage so there is no danger.

For an official source... this is the company you want.
Only problem is... they have... everything, so finding the one you want is hard.
I would suggest just emailing them a picture.

The easiest way is to cut it in the middle and splice with extra wire that you can find. It is just an LED wire. There is no risk involved.

DigiKey will have the connector. They have 2255 "pages" of female rectangular connectors.

If there's a connector they don't have... it's made out of wood, in Japan, and it's for joinery.

Ah, I forgot to mention that I also need that cable to connect to this connection ( I don't currently have a black power LED cable ) :If I get this:
I can connect the LED cable to one of the black cables above?

I'm confused. This last post (6) shows connectors for both the power and HDD LEDs. (Very typical of what I've gotten with every case I've bought over many years.) What is the cable in your first post for?

The attached image shows a typical front panel header. Your 2 pin one doesn't go on it. Some front panel headers have had pins for a speaker to play beep codes during POST, but that may be out-of-date now.

Yup, that's correct that the motherboard takes the typical HDD, Power LED, reset/power black cables.

However, with the LED cable on the first post it's missing the cable that connects the white LED rectangular cable to the black typical ones to the motherboard. The rectangular cable is too short & needs another cable to attach it to the motherboard.

Looking back over your second post (6), I'm even more confused. Are the connectors in the image ones that you have, or not?

You could clear things up by providing the make and model number of your PC's case, and the motherboard. Please help us to help you.

Looking back at the first post, I assume the case isn't new, because it looks like it's dusty. A random thought: are you changing a motherboard into an appliance PC (the sort made by Dell, HP, etc.)? That would make it likelier that there'd be proprietary things in the case.

As other have mentioned. You can just cut the wires and add some extra wire.
A place like Home Depot or most hardware stores will have wire that's the same gauge (thickness).

Just get a small roll of wire and some electrical tape.

Make staggered Western Union splices and cover them with electrical tape.

My desktop is a Raidmax Scorpio 868, and the motherboard is a b450m bazooka max wifi.

I've bought some 1 pin Jumper cables, not sure if it'd work though. Amazon Cables

yeah, those jumpers will work. I used some of those to hook up a relay switch to the motherboard for voice command powering on and off.

Something like this should work... Amazon.com: Phobya Extension Cable, 2-Pin, 30cm : Electronics

You can also Google "2 pin fan extension cables" to see if something better pops up. Those extensions cables can be found for cheap.

And it was $9

Yeah, either of those will work, you just need to find a place that sells them. You might also look in your area; perhaps some local Ma & Pa PC shops :). Shouldn't be that expensive.
