I have an HP Pavilion x360 15 Notebook computer, and I can't install Windows 11 because my CPU isn't supported. How can I bypass the CPU requirement?

Quite ridiculous!

You may be able to install a fresh copy of the RTM and later, but Microsoft would not support it - they have stated that they would warn but not stop install for the processor - of course this could mean that you would need to handle all or at least the non critical updates yourself through the update catalogue

I think there's some 'hack' out in the wild that allows users to bypass TPM stuff.
However, it's to be used with the knowledge that Microsoft will likely not provide any updates (security too) since it's an exploit that I'm sure is well documented in their legal jargon.
Caveat emptor.

I would just stick with Win 10 for the next 4 years until it's retired, or you buy a new PC.
Personally, I like the TPM mandate as it provides a more secure environment that makes it harder for the exploding volume of hackers/phishers that are trying to scam/steal etc.

With TPM either on the CPU die or an added module to the motherboard (probably even better than the CPU), it will make it a lot harder for the bad guys, and even if they find a way it will likely have solutions from chip/TPM module makers.
I understand that if someone wants in bad enough, they will find a way, but that's no reason to just give up.

I would wait until you are ready to buy a new computer that will run Win 11. Trying to run Win 11 on a computer that doesn't meet the requirements may cause you more trouble than worth.

Well I don't understand why they are saying it isn't compatible, because the Intel Driver & Support Assistant says there are driver updates for Windows 10 & Windows 11.

I think many are getting that program mixed up in thinking it's going to suddenly make an incompatible CPU compatible with Windows 11. That is not the intent here.... An Introduction to Drivers when Using Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA)

While it can apply patches for CPU's, this in turn does not make that CPU compatible for what Microsoft demands.

Ways to install Windows 11 there are ways to edit the registry though but I already tried that, no way it will let you if you have a older processor, maybe for tpm.

Also there is a chance they will support your computer one day ;)

Microsoft has provided a registry key to bypass the CPU check. Below, I am providing that key in the full context of Microsoft's statement regarding this:

Microsoft recommends against installing Windows 11 on a device that does not meet the Windows 11 minimum system requirements. If you choose to install Windows 11 on a device that does not meet these requirements, and you acknowledge and understand the risks, you can create the following registry key values and bypass the check for TPM 2.0 (at least TPM 1.2 is required) and the CPU family and model.

Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup

Name: AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU

Type: REG_DWORD

Value: 1

Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

That did not work for me after several tries. Still received message that PC was not suitable when attempting to install Windows 11.
My PC had passed all the criteria except it was an Intel 6th generation i7 except generation 8 or above.

New here and this may have already been posted.
While I was on the My Digital Life forum I came across this that was posted by the author of Rufus in the Application Software/Rufus USB section.
[Update] Rufus USB Tool You must be a forum member and login to see the post.

Rufus 3.16 BETA #2 has just been made available.
This pre-release brings the following updates:
  • Fix ISO mode support for Red Hat 8.2+ and derivatives
  • Fix BIOS boot support for Arch derivatives
  • Fix removal of some boot entries for Ubuntu derivatives
  • Fix log not being saved on exit
  • Add Windows 11 "Extended" installation support (Disables TPM/Secure Boot/RAM requirements)
  • Add UEFI Shell ISO downloads
  • Add support for Intel NUC card readers
  • Improve Windows 11 support
  • Improve Windows version reporting
  • Speed up clearing of MBR/GPT
I guess the change that might be of interest for most people is that Rufus 3.16 provides the ability to install Windows 11 on computers that don't meet the TPM 2.0 + Secure Boot + 8 GB RAM or more official requirements (can't do much about unsupported CPUs though).

You will see this new feature if you select a Windows 11 ISO (which Rufus can also conveniently download through its split SELECT/DOWNLOAD button), as the Image option dropdown will list the following options:
  • Standard Windows 11 Installation (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, 8GB+ RAM)
  • Extended Windows 11 Installation (no TPM/no Secure Boot/8GB- RAM)
If you choose the second option, Rufus will edit the relevant registry hive from sources\boot.wim and create the relevant BypassTPMCheck, BypassSecureBootCheck and BypassRAMCheck keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig, that allow to bypass the installation restrictions.

Out of curiosity I downloaded it and ran it. To see the iso DOWNLOAD button you must first in Settings enable Check for Updates.
FAQ · pbatard/rufus Wiki

I'm assuming since I am running Rufus in Windows 11 and my PC is Windows 11 ready that it did not give me the Standard and Extended Windows 11 installation options. This though, as the author stated, could be a way to install Windows 11 on computers that don't meet the TPM 2.0 + Secure Boot + 8 GB RAM or more official requirements.

And found this on Anandtech. How to Install Windows 11 to Unsupported PC (Released Version October 5) - Tips 2 Fix
Seems hard to believe that you just have to replace the appraiserres.dll file with the modified one, but a poster on Anandtech tried it on an old PC and it worked. Question - Is Windows 11 preventing booting from pendrive?

Thanks for pointing me to your post. With your method were all your files and programs from your Windows 10 install still there?
Hi,
Upgrading yes

I would disconnect from the internet before doing that process

All I can say is that I have successfully installed on:

A 7th gen i7
a 6th gen i7
a 5th gen i5
a 4th gen i7
a 3rd gen i5

All were clean installs, but I modified NOTHING. Just booted from a thumb drive created with the Microsoft ISO using my own software. Do note, however, that all systems have a TPM, although the 4th gen i7 system is TPM 1.2 and not 2.0. Not one of those systems complained and all are running 11 just fine so far. Again, I modified nothing at all anywhere.

Well I don't understand why they are saying it isn't compatible, because the Intel Driver & Support Assistant says there are driver updates for Windows 10 & Windows 11.
I have a 6th generation Intel 6200U CPU that's not officially supported. Intel gives also drivers for 11. I did a clean install of 11 and i have just one non major problem : when i choose bigger than 100% text zoom the search at taskbar not work.
