It's just about the time until someone foundout the way. For now I just happy with my settings, whether Undocking enabled or disabled.are there any non-invasive way than UndockingDisabled? it breaks some settings like the search function you mentioned.
I wish someone here knows how to hexedit the explorer.exe and enable win10 functionalities. hahahaha
anyone willing to bother him?

Not me. I turned off that feature..
But then they're all grey!!!Not me. I turned off that feature..
Hahaha.. It's Insider (and Outsider) Preview after all. Not a stable build that officially distributed. Expect for the other anomalies.But then they're all grey!!!
Really!?!?!? Somebody told me this was the finished, polished Release!!!...Not a stable build that officially distributed...
What software are you using for the icons? I haven't try anything from Windows 10 like 7tsp, Icon Packager, or any other.Still p*sses me off that half open folders won't show icons, though!
Icon Packager - Dragon LordWhat software are you using for the icons? I haven't try anything from Windows 10 like 7tsp, Icon Packager, or any other.
Can't get the taskbar centered after doing this, AND my time/date disappears as well. That reg hack screws up a lot. . Start Menu won't work, can't type at all. Had to manually go into File Explorer and find regedit.exe just to pull it up and delete that value all together.I've tried using the newest Windows 11 explorer and use this reghack. No luck. It's always grouping and shows only icons.
This time I didn't replace the explorer with the one from Windows 10, but simply using your reghack:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell\Update\Packages]
"UndockingDisabled"=dword:00000001
And the result was great. My explorer.exe is the newest version, but the behavior is just like the old Windows 10 explorer.
I don't have another computer to test. Wanna see the result if I do update from build 21996 to 20000 and do the reghack.
I never try VM.
To fix time/date, simply run (WIN + R) this command:Can't get the taskbar centered after doing this, AND my time/date disappears as well. That reg hack screws up a lot. . Start Menu won't work, can't type at all. Had to manually go into File Explorer and find regedit.exe just to pull it up and delete that value all together.
I think this one:Forgot to mention!!!
I think the explorer.exe hackfufrigs up Office updates!!!
Here is the final results:I think this one:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell\Update\Packages]
"UndockingDisabled"=dword:00000001
Simply blocked the updates.
I currently installing Windows 11 on an Intel Core2 Duo PC right now. Will try to replace the explorer.exe without that reghack and see the result.
The clock fix didn't work for me. I still have to have the "Touch Keyboard" icon enabled for the time/date to show up.To fix time/date, simply run (WIN + R) this command:
shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
Then you can choose what icon to show up at the system tray, including date/time.
This reghack simply blocked some new features from the updates.
Change the value of UndockingDisabled to 0 and restart explorer to fix it.
After you run this:The clock fix didn't work for me. I still have to have the "Touch Keyboard" icon enabled for the time/date to show up.
