Release Highlights
  • Bug fixes included.
  • New Program Support added.
Known Issues
  • After installing the AMD Chipset Installer version “7.xx.xx.xx”, users cannot install version “6.xx.xx.xx” or earlier.
    Workaround:
    • Un-install the AMD Chipset installer version 7.xx.xx.xx or newer.
    • Delete the “Qt_Dependencies” folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software\".
    • Install AMD Chipset installer version 6.xx.xx.xx or older.
  • On a non-English OS, some driver names may appear in English. 
  • Occasionally, Ryzen PPKG may not install or upgrade.
  • Yellow bang on AMS Mailbox driver on the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 9000 Series Processors [AMD WRX90] on Win10 OS.

Just installed 5.05.16.529... it wanted all 5 chipset drivers. No problems on this end. :-)

I think it's only for 3000 series processors and earlier.

I certainly got it, and as usual it annoyingly changed the minimum processor speed to 99% and maximum to 100%. (I always set mine to minimum 20% and maximum 99%). (It makes for a more relaxing life).

I found that the installer tries to use the
C:\AMD\Chipset_Software\Binaries\ and sub directries when doing the actual driver installs
but the drivers are actually located in
C:\AMD\Chipset_Software\Packages\IODriver\
so I copy packages into the Binaries folder to make it work..
its a horrible bug on AMD's part.


for example PSP
from C:\AMD\Chipset_Software\Packages\IODriver\PSP\PSP Driver\
and all sub folders win11 and win 10 drivers
copied to the
C:\AMD\Chipset_Software\Binaries\PSP Driver\
it works then.. its stupid on AMD part but it works.. for me..
on my main desktop PC...

You should probably first check the version numbers, for the chipset driver from your OEM and the one from AMD.
If they are the same... just use the one from your OEM.
If the AMD version is newer... then you can wait for the OEM to catch up, or risk installing the AMD version.

On a laptop... things are strange. OEMs do strange things, like alter drivers sometimes.
Generally, on a laptop, it's always safest to go with the OEM drivers.



USE backup software. Then, you can experiment with things like this, like a mad scientist.
You can even let go with the occasional... muahahahaha. :D
