  • Bug fixes included.
  • New Program Support added.
Known Issues
  • After installing the AMD Chipset Installer version “7.xx.xx.xx”, users cannot install version “6.xx.xx.xx” or earlier.
    Workaround:
    • Un-install the AMD Chipset installer version 7.xx.xx.xx or newer.
    • Delete the “Qt_Dependencies” folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software\".
    • Install AMD Chipset installer version 6.xx.xx.xx or older.
  • On a non-English OS, some driver names may appear in English. 
  • Occasionally, Ryzen PPKG may not install or upgrade.
  • Yellow bang on AMS Mailbox driver on the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 9000 Series Processors [AMD WRX90] on Win10 OS.

Thanks for keeping us updated, Brink.

On my motherboard's driver page, I noticed an AMD Chipset Driver version 3.08.06.148 available for download that was posted on Oct. 13. Doing a quick Google search, the only other place I'm finding it is being distributed by ASRock for various motherboards that was posted earlier today.

I can't find any details about it anywhere other than the release notes page that comes included in the .zip file. This version removes the AMD SMBUS driver, AS4 ACPI driver, SCH I2C driver, USB Filter driver and the CIR driver, but adds the AMD PMF driver (whatever that is). The SFH driver seems to be the only one that was updated in the version posted here.

Any clue as to what's going on here and if there's any reason to "downgrade" to version 3.08.06.148? I'm mostly just curious what the PMF driver is and if it's important at all for system functionality. I'm assuming not since I can't find a single thing about it online, but maybe someone else here has a better idea of what it is.

You're doing better than me. I'm showing version 2.x on the MSI motherboard support page:

It kind of makes me nervous to upgrade to the newest AMD chipset driver when there's such a large jump in numbers for some reason... 😟

EDIT: I said, "Ah, what the heck!" and installed it. The upgraded drivers were few. The PCI Driver and AMD Ryzen Powerplan drivers were the only two that needed updating. I did and restarted my system. No issues in that. I had just made a backup of my Windows drive, so I figured the worst case scenario would see me restoring from the backup.

Interesting. The latest drivers available directly from AMD for the X570 chipset are 3.09.01.140. Going through the release notes, 3.09.01.140 is newer. (A few of the files have newer revs. Most do not.)

Checked on Aida which incidentally has an update out today.
Hasn't fixed the L3 Read Write copy issues, latency still OK at 9ns, I suspect this is still on Microsoft as the driver update was to fix the preferred core issue, I suspect the L3 issues are why the MS fix hasn't appeared yet for non insiders as it's only a partial one.

L3 is so far all over the place that it can't even be said to be within the margin of error.

Anyone on the current dev build want to run the benchmark a couple of times and report back.

I did 5 runs on 282, the only thing on L3 that was consistent was the latency which was the only thing the MS fix sorted.

Of course one has to assume Aida is reading it correctly.

Drivers installed over old one which I couldn't uninstall. In Regular Windows and insider dev.
Insider dev. slightly better CPU performance as well as memory. Now it's MS's turn, expecting update patch in a few minutes.

One can only hope. I wonder 9f MS held off the WU because they are trying to fix the L3 read, write and copy speeds issues with the Preview release.
