Release Highlights
  • Bug fixes included.
  • New Program Support added.
Known Issues
  • After installing the AMD Chipset Installer version “7.xx.xx.xx”, users cannot install version “6.xx.xx.xx” or earlier.
    Workaround:
    • Un-install the AMD Chipset installer version 7.xx.xx.xx or newer.
    • Delete the “Qt_Dependencies” folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software\".
    • Install AMD Chipset installer version 6.xx.xx.xx or older.
  • On a non-English OS, some driver names may appear in English. 
  • Occasionally, Ryzen PPKG may not install or upgrade.
  • Yellow bang on AMS Mailbox driver on the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 9000 Series Processors [AMD WRX90] on Win10 OS.

I normally only install chipset drivers from AMD's site directly

I used the same driver from Asrock's site some months ago.
OEMs seem to get newer drivers before AMD put them on their own page
Just use the AMD_Chipset installer package directly and not the MSI installer

No, update works fine, Unlike GPU driver it keeps installation files i, C:\AMD folder and doesn't delete them.
