Both the PCs I mentioned above don't have a TPM at all yet core isolation is enabled,. Your assertion appears to be wrong.

Please post some screenshots with Memory integrity Enabled on a system with 4th Gen Intel CPU - like i7-4500U.

Press "Windows Key + R" and in Run tab type "dxdiag" - this will show a brief system info - including info about the CPU.

Next pres Windows Key - to open Start Menu and Search for "Core Isolation"

With both tabs (dxdiag + Core Isolation showing Memory Integrity Enabled) on top of each-other - ad a screenshot please. Just curious. 🤔

I always keep up to date but tbh I have never seen any benefit for a long time. I wonder why we get so many updates - I presume it is games related.

While running PC Health Check:

Pres "Check Now" - scroll down a bit for first 3 lines (Secure Boot, TPM & Processor Name) - and add a screenshot with the results. Really curious what does it show.

I've seen W11 installed on both desktops and laptops (with slightly newer CPUs - tho, still incompatible with the oficial support list) - and neither could run Memory Integrity. Running the Health Check App - they all showed This PC doesn't meet W11 Requirements - and also TPM 2.0 must be supported/enabled on this PC. Since it made sense - I leave it at that. Checked just now for the sake of it - but couldn't find any info on CPUs without TPM 2.0 being able to run Core Integrity. Still curious - what yours shows.

I don't think HVCI requires TPM 2.0, but it is on the official hardware requirement for Windows 11, which can be sidestepped at the cost of a) running an unsupported CPU, b) risking MS turning off the tap on security or feature updates at any time.

Business chipsets of that era would have TPM 1.2 possibly, but again it's not meeting the minimum spec.

I would add that it is an untested supposition for me anyway, I would not consider bypassing the hardware requirement to install Windows 11. Even 8th Gen CPUs will be EOL before the W11 lifecycle is over. A little like the pre 6th Gen stuff on W10 now. Win 10 on 6th Gen was initially a requirement, it wasn't keen on installing under Win 7 without similar hacks.

The main dependency is virtualization (even the description is self-explanatory in this regard: "virtualization-based protection"). Yet, last year i had to refurbish an Alienware 17 R2 (using a i7-4980HQ as CPU) - and the client was keen on installing Windows 11 (initial came with Windows 8.1). This one comes with TPM 1.2 - which does meet the minimum specs necessary for installing Windows 11 (even if officially - Microsoft prefers 2.0 - Windows 11 was designed to install & work with TPM 1.2 as well). And there's no need to crack the code - to modify it - you just need to disable the "optional (yet oficial)" requirement for TPM 2.0. It comes as a Warning - but even Microsoft released a step by step guide - for installing Windows on "so called unsupported hardware." Supposedly - while tested for Windows 11 - the older/unsupported CPUs has around 50% crash rate - while the supported models have less than 5%. Or at least it's what Microsoft claimed - while dealing with the unsupported CPUs backlash (High End - models in particular). Here: Ways to install Windows 11 - Microsoft Support Anyway, the install went pretty smooth - tho i couldn't get it to run Memory Integrity. The page for Core Isolation - was even missing, as in...

Since i was aware his system was missing TPM 2.0 - this feature lacking made sense to me at that time. But now, i'm not so sure. Since then - Microsoft also released (or updated) - the following article: Enable virtualization-based protection of code integrity Other than that - his system is still working as intended (he'd contact me if he had any issue - even updated to 22H2 on its own - since i used 21H2 for installation - the latest at that time). That being said - can't help but wondering if others had above issue - or if something changed and now - Memory Integrity can work even on older/unsupported hardware. 🤔 But that's a subject for a different topic.

Who made/released this driver?

On Intel's official page this is the last version available: Intel® 6th-10th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows Checked Windows Catalog - but no such results. Doing a web-search they only appear in obscure sites like station-drivers.

It came from Windows Update so it's obviously made by Intel as I was the one who put it on station-drivers and here.

Is that from Windows Insider?! Cause i never got that update (even as Optional Update). And as mentioned above, it's not available in Microsoft Update Catalog either. Only the latest official driver from intel can be found there:

No idea as I am in the Windows Insider Beta Channel, it's the first time it's newer than what's available. Only reason I posted it is because it's not available anywhere else after searching on both WUC and Intel. Intel could have it somewhere else too as they have released drivers that cannot be found by search before as seen in this thread where they would provide the links:

I see (a windows insider update).

The updates from that link - were available on main site "as beta updates". Tho, 6th - > 10th Gen GPUs were labeled legacy - back in November 2022. That's not to say they'll never release another update for this line of GPUs (as it's usually the case with other brands) - since Intel has a different take on legacy (they simply won't release a monthly update - as it's the case with newer GPUs, instead - they were suppose to release one around 3 month or so - or while bumping into a vulnerability/security issues). That being said - probally because they're legacy there's no official beta drivers anymore - and they keep it for windows insider releases (which is a partisanship update paired with Microsoft devs and meant to be tested on insider - before an official release). Just a logical guess.

Hard to really say except legacy versions basically increased the last number by 1 after they splitted the drivers between legacy and new generation. This time it went from 2115 all the way to 2121 which is +6. It's actually the first time I saw a version before anyone else did and it was all because my battery showed full so I unplugged the AC on the laptop and the machine loss power completely, seems like Windows thought the battery was 100% full when it was really 1% remaining so had to drain it by rebooting a few times until it shut off on it's own each time to fix it and since it rebooted, the first thing I did was check Windows Update so in case it needs a reboot, to just reboot before I start my usual processes and the driver was already waiting to be installed. I was hoping WUC had a copy after google not able to find it but then decided to use Driver Store Explorer to back up the copy just in case since at least this time around, 2121 would be the one Windows will install automatically if I uninstall all previous versions instead of like in the past when it keeps installing a older version first and I have to install the current version on top of it as I belive with one of the 30.x.x.x versions, one version created a black screen which remained even when a newer version was installed on top until I did the uninstall after Windows defaulted to a newer version released after that one when I uninstalled and then updated over the one Windows loads by default. Wished I knew how to read the inf manually so I know exactly what it supports.
