It came from me since I put them on upload.ee after testing them to make sure it works. I don't put things online without testing them first and I can only get it from two places, Microsoft Update Catalog, Windows Update 99% of the time and in rare cases if you look in the DIY forum, there is a ASUS thread where @MoKiChU provides them so the sources are usually safe one way or another. Whether you trust or use them or not is another issue as no one is forcing you to use it but more that they are available as Intel will eventually release the same version with the exact same date in Device Manager many months later so just like the latest official version, you will also suffer whatever it fixes until a few weeks to months later including disconnects like the latest one fixed. So it came from Intel one way or another and please look at this entire thread, I have provided driver posts regularly where I test and then upload them which is not only this site but also laptopvideo2go.com where I am a retired mod, have you read any complaints of the drivers having problems where you made claims of extra goodies which can already be liable for defamation since remember my reputation is also attached to it. I mean it's fine to be paranoid but you have to look at the situation. If I only joined the forums and started posting, then you should have concerns. But if I was here since the beginning and you can find posts from me that is over 20 years old without issues, then it should be taken into consideration.
I'm in no hurry, I'll wait until Intel release the drivers.

It wasn't your answer that's the problem but the response to you as changing the code is not that easy as remember the files are WHQL certified
or basically digital signed so there are checksums involved which is why the 23.x.x.x WiFi drivers didn't install for most people because it failed the WHQL check when they tried to install it, it only worked for the admin of station-drivers. So someone can't just include something extra to the code and sometimes it's wise to make sure what one says is true because even if something did go wrong with your system, it still has to be proven it was because of the drivers and the problem didn't come from somewhere else. As for waiting or not, that's your choice as it is a free world which is fine.

Nothing personal, I only ever trust drivers and software from official sites.

Yes, which I say is fine since you weren't the one making the defamatory written comment and besides, remember you were the one who asked me where they came from and I should be the only one who will give you a correct and accurate answer as to the source since there are people that will just use existing links posted by someone else that is not on a well know company like Intel or Microsoft as a example. I never do that as I will usually make sure it works before uploading it and then sharing the link since like I said, there are liabilities involved without personally checking them out first and those links may only be for people on the original targeted audience of those forums and not for sharing outside. So my responses earlier were not really aimed at you since you weren't the one who tried to read my brain and then provide the source and then made unproven comments.

There was v23.0.0.6 as well but I skipped it because there was something already newer. Atleast the BT side of 23.x.x.x works while the WiFi 23.x.x.x seems to be limited and only support the latest products. I do have a question though, I noticed in Device Manager, there is a Other devices section that when opened appears to show different BT profile types. Was that always there with previous 22.x.x.x or was that only with 23.0.0.10?

I've seen those there for a while now, definitely in the 22.x series as well. I'm pretty sure I saw it at the beginning of this year, if not the end of last year, which is the first time I noticed it.

It also only happens if you install all of the .inf files from each folder. If you pick only the one that doesn't correspond to those extra profiles, of course, you won't see them.

Exactly why I asked where they were from! I wouldn't touch these.

All good. I know he vets the drivers, and they are not any form of installable executables, so nothing to distrust here. And this is what system images are for.

Besides, you can take a good look at how even drivers from the actual source can lead you to trouble - peruse the Killer drivers thread and see the pain and agony I went through trying to update to newer official drivers.

Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention and just didn't noticed the Other Devices area as usually I would but it does seem like I had never seen them before. What I usually do is just specify the top level folder and then let it search on it's own for the driver as I have no idea how others taking the different individual CAB files even figured out the names of the folders to put each of the contents of the individual cab files under.

You are right that if it used the .exe or .msi installer, there is a higher risk. And you have a good point as there was a time when Intel drivers caused a resource leak with dwm.exe which were fixed also in unreleased drivers but only people who knew about them in the Intel forums would know about the fix. I have been using station-drivers for the last 20+ years and had never had a problem, ofcourse there were drivers that don't support my device but that's another issue altogether.

Wonder if they really changed anything in the v23.0.0.10 WHQL compared to the one that were under the same version number I provided awhile back that worked on Wi-Fi 6 products. Saw this elsewhere but the officially released v23.0.0.10 WHQL:

Interesting, upload.ee seems to be the safe one and has the fast download speeds... maybe until recently as that was the problem with other sites. krakenfiles.com used to be fine until recently as they are limiting download speeds which makes it extremely slow. Any suggestions for a site to upload that does not require an account since I don't want to have to delete things making it unavailable should my account go over the space limit.

I wish but I already reached my limits for allowable Google Accounts allowed from the number of real phone numbers I have which is 2. As for one drive, I suppose one can create it but remember both of those options have storage limits and I don't want to delete older files because someone may need them. Seriously, it seems like a lot of the good sites have gone the way you mentioned with upload.ee with the requiring multiple clicks as until you click the correct # of times, it will just open garbage pages instead of downloading the real file. I mean normally I would have used something like mirrorace but the problem is a lot has the problem you mentioned and some don't even work. I mean people aren't going to use services when the download process is a major hassle since the uploader usually would not know unless they happened to need to download from someone else's upload.

They must have different policies down under. We're not required to have a valid phone number for a Google account here - I have 3 active personal accounts and 4 more BS / throw away accounts.

As for storage limits, if you want, I'll gladly host them - I have a TB of space from my M365 family account, and I only have 4 family members lol - so this alias also gets a 1 TB account that is basically sitting there doing nothing. But I don't log in every day, which could be an issue.

I also thought files could be hosted here directly, but I suppose the file size limit does make sense - having everyone upload 10 MB images would tap the servers pretty quickly lol.

Well, I know how to block the links that upload.ee tries to send so we can stick with it.

That may be true since I think atleast in the US, creating a Google account requires validation which is usually done by phone numbers and it appears to be 4 accounts per phone number, my first and primary account did not require validation as it was one of those from 2004/2005 when gmail required an invitation, the others were created 2009 and later. I already have 6 active personal accounts, 1 active personal account for my mom, 1 account under the business name which is still personal and several accounts I only created temporarily and never accessed again. I guess what can be done is you can always mirror it and just share a link or something. I guess a lot of these sites start doing the same upload.ee on people who don't have paid accounts when downloading probably as a way to get people to pay instead.

On another note, I kept thinking you were in the US for some reason when you mentioned Gateway computers.

I have a friend with Google problems in Australia. A few actually. One particular account had been locked until the user supplied a phone number. They can’t afford a mobile phone, all their communications were locked. We had to find a friend who would volunteer their mobile phone number. Just deplorable. It’s the Australian Govt that is doing it.

It is the same for .com.au domains, all AU domains. You must have an ABN (Australian business number) to register an Australian domain. It’s their way of making companies (and people) known and accountable. And to get an ABN, you basically have to map out everything about you to the ATO (Australian Tax Office)

That's interesting. In my case, I used to have a landline but I ported the number to Google Voice so it's a virtual number so can't be used for the verification portion. Uber for example does not allow using a Google Voice number either as even if you successfully have it on a account, you will not receive the text messages.

As for the ABN, aren't there a lot of scam investing platforms that either use UK or ABN's and people said both of those are very easy to get or maybe in reality, they are using someone else's real ABN and name and claiming it as their own company. I know the UK one is easy to get.

Yes. Identity theft in a lot of cases, to register an ABN. But really hard to do in OZ. I’m not kidding, they want EVERYTHING for you to register. Probably not unlike the IRS. But we are probably restricted more than the USA when wanting to acquire services.

Anyway, back on topic; this driver version caused my Bluetooth to bug out, had to roll back.
