Unlike previous Bluetooth drivers which supports everything in one package, this one is two versions of drivers depending on the device. WiFi7 devices will get 23.100.1, everything else is 23.100.0

You are right, I was reading a thread on another forum. The AX211 and AX411 are CNVIo2 WiFi6E.

Good, because I specifically skipped trying to get one of those for my AMD-based mobo and went for the B series for Wifi-7, and am waiting for the AEGIS to finally support it lol. My mobo currently has Wi-Fi 6 only AX1650 in it, and I want the newer Wi-Fi- 7 and BT 5.3 combo.

Still waiting on AEGIS though.

What is the B series anyways? I still don't know how to tell if I have the Intel vPro version of the AX210 or not. Intel Support didn't know either. lol.

B (technically BE) series, versus A series (AX, AC). It's the quick way to know which Wi-Fi spec it is actually dealing with.

Also, IIRC, the AX 211 and AX411, being those CNVIo2 cards, require an Intel CPU (and thus motherboard) to work as they offload some of the processing to the CPU, and cannot be used with AMD CPUs at all. I did a ton of research before figuring out which M.2 card I *could* buy as a theoretical replacement for my existing AX1650x card (made by Killer right before they were bought by Intel), but I also need AMI BIOS (specifically AEGIS, from my research) to enable support for the BE cards in order to upgrade. My mobo currently refuses to even boot if I put the BE1750x M.2 card I bought, though I have seen reports on a AMD B450 chipset-based board that it worked after Intel released the drivers - no go for my mobo at all.

It was a fun little project back in the summer, when I didn't actually have a Wi-Fi 7 capable device, but I will be upgrading to a Wi-Fi 7-based system for my home in the next 6 months or so, so now it becomes a bit more ... imperative, I suppose lol ... that I get this card working. I'm not planning on replacing this entire system any time soon, as it already cost a big chunk of change in 2021 when I built it, so I want to upgrade the internal M.2 card instead - but so far, that has been a frustrating no-go.

@johnlgalt - I forgot all about the naming and what they named Wi-Fi 7. My Dell notebook came with the Killer 1535 which is Qualcomm Atheros and I thought the Killer 1650x was just a rebadged Intel AX200NGW. You would know if you had a CNVIO type system because you would have had a AX201NGW card instead of the AX200NGW instead. DIdn't realize you can't just put in a BE card just like I replaced my Killer 1535 with a Intel AX210NGW. The Killer 1535 was a piece of junk even using just the Qualcomm Atheros drivers without Killer Performance software as probably a 100 times a day, it will sync and no surf until one disconnect and reconnect. The ones ending in 1 are always the CNVIO version which is basically the lower end "WinModem" version as it will use the CPU on the system instead of dedicated on the ones that ends with 0. I just read the BE200 will not work in my system because it uses the A key and the BE200 only has the E key just like yours.

Yeah, it's an AMD thing. And something with my specific motherboard model, as well, I'm beginning to believe.

A Type E M.2 should work perfectly fine in my slot, which is a combo E/A according to documentation, but it fails to boot at all if that BE card is in there. I had already done the research and picked that card specifically because a user reported that it worked on his B450 based motherboard with a Wi-Fi 6E router that he had after Intel dropped the first set of drivers for it, so I figured that the X570 chipset should also have gotten the same love - apparently not (or else MSI is dragging their feet, which they are rather slow to update AGESA (I mistyped AEGIS before lol) in their UEFI firmware versions - one of the many reasons I tend to jump on their Beta firmware early on.

But it is possible that the documentation has it wrong and it is an A slot *only*, which could easily also be the issue. But everything I've read said it is a combo A/E slot.

Yeah, that was one of the factors when I built this rig, this mobo had the 1650x, which did not seem to exhibit those drops and latency issues that a variety of their Atheros cards exhibited across the board.

@johnlgalt - I'm on a Intel platform and I meant even your BE200's photo shows it has E only but not A like the older AX210 and my system only takes a A key card. I wonder if the Mediatek WiFi7 cards are any good.

I haven't researched the MediaTek cards at all, tbh.

As for E versus A - my mobo is the opposite, it is E keyed, but the stock card is an E/A keyed card. So, the replacement that I bought, being keyed E, fits no problem. It's actually a mini riser card with the M.2 E-keyed slot on it, so I can physically remove it from the motherboard and perform the required surgery without having to remove my entire mobo from the case, thankfully.

However, BIOS though doesn't like the new card one bit. And I've tabled the idea of upgrading it for now, as I await a UEFI Firmware / BIOS update that will support that card that I bought (which is still rumored to have support backported to the AMD B500 and X500 platforms, last I checked).

I never really looked at what my notebook takes but it's based on what others said so hopefully they are correct. For desktop motherboards, one can always use adapters but for notebooks, it depends on how much space there is as the adapter might not even fit as I had discovered trying to add the same Intel AX210 to a older ASUS Notebook.

I wonder who actually makes the best performing WiFi cards. Intel is more known for their wired networking and not wireless. Qualcomm Atheros could be better. Mediatek is more like a Realtek type of company so unless one has used it, it's hard to know if it's any good. So hopefully in your case, it will work in the near future.

I am only a WiFi-6E Router/Modem from Comcast because it's free for 24 months, the rest of my network is still on 802.11AC where I will probably upgrade the router to WiFi7 when I decide on what to use.

Adapters, meaning ... M.2 adapters? Or (replacement) PCIe adapters?

On my mobo, it's a simple card that plugs into the mobo that includes the wireless antenna ports on the card - it's that tiny. I thought I had pics of it but I apparently only took pics of actual Wi-Fi / BT combo M.2 cards themselves - but rest assured that the entire riser card that those are inserted to is barely larger than the cards themselves lol.

Also, I previously mistakenly said I could remove the wireless card without removing the motherboard - that is only if I leave the screws off both the back I/O 'shroud" that my mobo has as well as the screw holding that mini-riser card. Since I tested three different cards, the second and third times it was easy to swap and replace as I had not replaced those screws - since none of them worked, I put it all back together and screwed everything down, meaning I'd have to take my system apart again to get it to work.

If you meant PCIe adapters, sure, I could theoretically try that - but it would play havoc with my current setup, as my 10G Ethernet card + my GPU use 20 lanes, and anything else will split the lanes with my GPU as I already have 3 onboard NVMe drives as well. Hence why I did not go that route.

Anyhoo, I've hijacked this thread enough. I'll start a new post if I have new information about my situation.

In my case, it's to take the AX-210 which is M.2 so it will fit on the Mini-PCIe slot on the ASUS G74SX-3DE so in my case, there isn't room for it since it is a laptop after all so one has to take the enclosure into account assuming I even get that far. LOL.

For anyone looking to upgrade to WiFi 7 either the onboard M.2 card or with a PCIe card, after researching some weeks and unfortunately paying the price for it (because I did the research after I bit the bullet and thought any would work), it appears that still to this day the only working solution for AMD systems is the Qualcomm NCM865.
Neither the MediaTek 7927 nor the Intel BE200 will work (or even boot some times) on AMD systems.
I have tried all three and eneded up going with a PCIe card from MSI (MSI Herald-BE NCM865) that finally works. DO NOT get any cards that use either the Intel BE200 or the MediaTek 7927. I tried myself and now ended up having two unusable cards on the shelf (I tried the TP-Link Archer TBE550E and the Asus PCE-BE92BT).

I am hoping that at some point Intel will release drivers that will work on AMD and maybe even AMD will update the AGESA to accomodate the newest WiFi 7 chips.

@MultiDoc - How well does the Qualcomm-Atheros work in terms of speed and bluetooth? Atheros is from Stanford so it's supposed to be better in terms of engineering than Intel. I guess the other way is to see what cards are used for AMD systems that ship with WiFi7. The Qualcomm NCM865 appears to still be E keyed.
