Microsoft PC Manager Beta app now available

Garbage .... used it for all of about 30 seconds ......... uninstalled it

Anyone has the link to the offline installer for 3.8.2.0?
The online downloader keeps getting stuck for me.

I just checked the Discord server and someone there is also asking for the same thing - is that you?

Haven't seen it - wonder if it downloads it during installation?

The offline installer available is for a older version 3.7.x.x as I tried it first but it doesn't show a upgrade available to get to 3.8.2.0. The online installer works fine for me when I tried it.

Nope, it's not me, I've only asked here.

For me none of the versions installed showed any update available, I had to download the new version manually each time.

OK, if you're interested, I've found the 3.8.2.0 files on some third-party website - I've scanned them with Malwarebytes and Kaspersky and they look legit.

The point is you need to update manually by extracting them to the app folder. You need to kill the service EXE file first (MSPCManagerService.exe).

Tried it and yet another example of Microsoft duplicating stuff and bloating Windows. Totally pointless, the same as the pointless "Home" in settings. Adds a new service and I used Revo to uninstall it. Why doesn't Microsoft concentrate on the OS itself, have they too much time on their hands?

The Offline installer I posted in post #34 of this thread actually updated me all the way to the version right before 3.8.2.0 as even before I ran the offline installer that I thought was 3.8.2.0 when you asked about it, I checked the one I had installed and it said update available and actually said 3.8.2.0 is the newer version but the offline installer was 3.7.x.x and after install, it did not show any new versions were available. I have noticed in the past, I was stuck with an older version and had to manually download a new version each time with the exception of installing #34 which appears to have auto-updated me to everything and probably would have gone to 3.8.2.0 as well if I actually waited but the problem is I always want to keep a copy of the current versions installer should something go wrong as the automatic update may or may not happen.

The link for #34 no longer works as I was going to download the offline installer to see if it works and auto upgrades or not.

I am sure they want to create things that they provide for free so people will not use something from third parties. They have the money so they want to try to get into as many areas as possible since people will obviously use something free rather than paying for it so it's a way to prevent people from buying a similar tool so no money goes to those companies and those companies will go under sooner or later.
