Network delay on returning from sleep mode

Since updating to 22H2 my network connection takes over 12 seconds to be active when returning from sleep mode. So I get "Network Disconnected" in event viewer. How ever, on cold boot it takes less than 4 seconds once on the desktop. Every update since 22H2 it seems to take longer for the network to connect after coming out of sleep, my Eset security complains that it can't connect to the internet. If I go back to 22H1 then everything is normal. Anyone noticed this. I know my system is not as new as most but it works very well apart form this annoying network delay. Tried network reset-same problem, different network driver-same problem, nothing wrong with cold boot only sleep mode.
Running Rj45 no Wi-Fi.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Could you please say which power plan you use. Also open cmd prompt as admin and type powercfg -a

So no one else has any ideas, what's happened to all the gurus that spring forth and help. Replied to glasskuter, no response. Sorry this is not as simple as my "widgets aren't working" asked for help and -nothing.

try GPEDIT -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Power Management -> Sleep Settings ->

“Allow network connectivity during connected-standby (on battery)” -> Enabled
“Allow network connectivity during connected-standby (plugged in)“ -> Enabled

if you dont have Win Pro, you can install gpedit via command prompt:

Code:
FOR %F IN ("%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy-ClientTools-Package~*.mum") DO ( DISM /Online /NoRestart /Add-Package:"%F" )

Code:

Thanks a lot for your reply. I think that after making these changes in GPEDIT the connection is becoming available a few seconds earlier. It was instantaneous before and it's a little frustrating to open browser and wait for connection to become ready even if I could live with it!
for information this is my network adapter: Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller (PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8125&SUBSYS_380317AA&REV_05).

This might do it for you. But might not be adviseable on laptop unless it's plugged in all the time.

Power is the big thing with the OEMs right now, especially with portable devices. Modern standby rather than sleep is the worse thing they ever came out with IMO but since we're seeing fewer problems reported with modern standby devices these days, the OEMs have gotten better at managing power and issuing better bios since then. Modern standby caused a lot of misery to a lot of people for a while a year or so ago.

First open command prompt as admin and type powercfg -a Make a screenshot or print the results. This is your current power options.
You will see that S3 probably shows unavailable and S0 is enabled (S0 is modern standby)

Probably the most preferable option for you is to try to enable Modern Standby Network Connectiviity. Know that doing so will use more battery power.

EDIT: I see where that option has been offered by @dacrone

For those devices that allow it many people prefer to use the old S3 power standard that's been around for years. There is a chance in a device of the calibre of that Lenovo that you might be able to enable the old S3 sleep if you are interested in doing that. It all depends if your bios allows it. Since some devices allow it and some do not, you won't know til you try. It either changes or it doesn't.

This tutorial tells you how to enable S3 which disables S0. If you go this route, running another powercfg -a will tell you if it changed from S0 to S3 successfully or not. You can compare it to the first one you ran above.

Hi glasskuter :)
Thanks for your message. As strange as it may sound my laptop dose not support modern standby. I checked and apparently even this years Lenovo Legion 7i pro (i9 13th gen+4080) dose not support it!
