New Build Push Alerts

Now we have passed RTM we have stopped sending push alerts to all members for new insider builds, if you would like to continue receiving the new build push notifications you can now opt-in for the notification from your user preferences page.

If we don't opt in, do we still get regular CP Alerts?

Or, we get CP alerts when it's turned on?

No.

Ok, only 6 people opted in, I'll assume this is due to people not knowing about the setting.....So, I've opted everybody in and if you don't want the alerts you can opt-out on your preferences page.

The option is also showing on the new registration page so all future members get the initial choice when they sign up.

Wow... only six?? I was one of them but thanks for defaulting it to on.

I opted in too straight away after I saw here how to do it. 😄

I actually did not opt in because I had reverted to running stable builds on my machine - I don't have a machine to test the IPs on, and haven't had time to build a couple of VMs for testing either.

But having it on seems like a good thing.

Okay, I'm "opted out" (I think), but I still get the red numbers in the top bar. Isn't this supposed to stop that?

There are other reasons for getting an alert for an Insider build thread. If you reply to the thread then you are automatically subscribed to it. You'll be alerted for any new replies. If so, then you can 'unwatch' that thread.

I never did that - AFAIK, I've never even read any of these Insider posts, until I started looking for a place to post this question.

I have never replyed to any post/thread in the insider forum, but i do always get notifications. I un-checked the New Build Alerts a long time ago.

Do you know how to fix that? :)

I have never opted-in for push alerts but do get them anyway. How do i stop them coming? :)
