Hi there
There are better apps out there than most people have had hot dinners.

Ms should forget competing in those areas where its lost its way e.g as it did in the mobile phone market, and only re-enter that market again when it has genuine competing products.

For example Windows "Security" as it laughably used to be called was total rubbish -- now it's one of the best if not the best rendering almost any competition which used to be bywords for computer security almost obsolete.

Who would even THINK of using windows media player currently with so many good apps out there (and free of course).

@Edwin -- for Classical music even the old WINAMP -- still working on W11 sounds better than WMP. VLC, MediaMonkey and about 10 zillion others are also streets better.

There may be better apps for overall media playing, but WMP is still dead simple to take mp3 files and burn to CD in audio format.

There is always a market for a basic tool built into OS.

I don't either since I keep the usage and temp info on my desktop and I don't overclock. I'm just one of those that likes everything to work like it's supposed to so I let the little things irk me lol.

I use it and always have. Tried others but always came back.

Same thing with browsers. I've always used what Windows provides. Edge Chromium is the best.

I think most browsers are pretty much on a equal footing now for most. It's more about peoples preferences as far as features and layout. For example I was a loyal Firefox fan but after a couple ladies on here talked me into trying Vivaldi I was instantly hooked on the layout and all the features/options so now it's my goto browser.

Main reason I like firefox is the fact I can still have a menu and it's not "Ad driven" or full of features I don't need. -- or are easily "switched off". Edge is just "too irritating" even if it works OK while Chrome puts me off because of its hidden data metrics that are used by Google for goodness knows what purposes --OK not always malevolent but they still make millions out of this type of data collection.

Performance wise there's nothing really in them as any problems these days will generally be down to Internet traffic on the target web site, coding efficiency on the target website and network speed both on your own internal system(s) and between you and your ISP. So it's all down now to personal choice rather than "Features" etc.
