I do gotta admit, this new interface is slick.

But I also got a survey request from WinAmp to join their new beta, and I already use WACUP, so this is gonna be interesting to see them duke it out. Of course I've got VLC as the backup backup to the backup, but until they get real and start releaseing more stable v4s, it stays in backup land.

That is by far too complicated and mostly unnecessary. You don't even have to use Powershell or extract or modify anything. I just downloaded the latest msixbundle which is 11.2112.49.0. Then I went to Apps in Windows Settings and uninstalled the Media Player app. I then went to the downloaded file, right clicked on it, and chose open with App Installer. It installed it without a hitch and it works perfectly. It doesn't say preview now but that's really the only difference I see.

If you don't already have the first version and still have Groove, you don't have to uninstall anything. You just run the downloaded package with App Installer and it automatically replaces Groove.

I downloaded it and installed it - didn't do anything else at all.

Not sure why some of these sites keep trying to make you jump through unnecessary hoops.

Only one thing ; these new awfull contextmenu-items ; Add to playlist in Mediaplayer .......and ; Play with Mediaplayer
These new items are on all music-extensions in the contextmenus !
HOW (?) to get rid of these new worthless contextmenu-items ...........???

Why are they worthless? I've used the ones for the old Windows Media Player many times. Especially the add to playlist one. That comes in very handy.

The right click menu..., that's as close to immediately accessible as you can get!
