My music library as shown in JRiver Media Center... :)

That's just a third shown of the albums shown. There are approximately 1600 full CDs there. Still have about a thousand to rip.

I want a thight contextmenu , so I managed to remove the mediaplayer from my menus .
Mediaplayer only visible in "open with" .............

My current library contains 16,913 files (songs) in 1,655 CD's thus far. Still have a little over a thousand to rip

BTW... Anyone digitizing their CD music collection?

For me, what's on CD stays on CD. They just sound better.
Actually, counting CD's, I have about 85 songs. Mostly Santana, Beatles / Paul McCartney, Eagles, BeeGees, and Moody Blues.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason to still use "Movies and TV" since Media Player does both music and video? Advantage of one over the other?

As for me I keep My CD's on book shelve's and the only other thing I do is Rip them to Media player on all my PC's and I am a pure country fan Allen Jackson ,Willie nelson,waylon Jennings,All country Singers

Well, I didn't get to 2700 CDs by being a single genre fan. I love music of all types, but my favs are early to late 70's jazz. rock, and R&B. That said I have some of everything and have been collecting music since about the mid 70s :)

BTW, I also have a vinyl collection of near a thousand albums and have recorded some to CD then ripped to PC :)

I have my whole music on MP3 now. I like late 50's,60's and 70's as well as Rock and Reggae but Punk/New Wave is one of my favourites

The New Media Player is a piece of ****@@@!!. All of my music - consisting of Broadway musicals, classics, and individual concert music from various venues and artist is ALL SCRAMBLED UP. Plays perfectly with old Windows Media Player and with the previous media player that was replaced by this piece of crap. SOOO sad.

I don't know. Another issue is that it finds that much of my music is not licensed under this new piece of crap. On the Windows Media Player it is all licensed and recognized its status. What gives with this? Isn't this the same company, or is Media Player (new) being outsourced to a foreign land???? License state should be intact for all versions of Microsoft's players. I don't get it.

Yeah, I've found that if one tiny piece of metadata doesn't match, it fecks up your whole folder structure! So stupid!
However, I can open foobar right next to it and everything is okay there!

In 1989, I bought both my first CD player in a Carver TL-3300, and my first CD in Ronnie Laws' Identity (jazz).

Still have that CD player in the original box packed away, though my last home CD player was a Rotel RCD-1072 back in 2004. It too is packed away.
