Hi folks

Got a test preview of Office 2024 Pro LTSC from work for testing -- didn't know it even existed - but seems a lot of things only in office/365 since 2019 have been incorporated into this product.

Not sure if this will hit retail though - but note also if you use legacy data connectors such as msquery in excel you'll need to go to files-->options and on the data section enable the connectors - then when you get external data you'll see an extra colum legacy with your microsoft query as before.

Note also you'll need the oracle community OBDC connector for connecting to mariaDB database for this release - if you installed the 32 bit version of office then install the 32 bit connector.

I must have missed the announcement -- but it seems fine to me so far (got from work so free to me) !!!!

Includes project (which I still use -- good software and Visio (which I don't really use). I think publisher (which I also don't use has gone now).

It was set for end of life in October 2026 so that is interesting. I swear I’d seen an article Shawn posted about it but I can not find it.

which is also when support for office 2021 ends. Publisher is done after that sadly. It's a great program.

In the thread I cannot find, there was a post made by someone who said that publisher files could be opened (and worked on?) by another popular program but I forget which.

My guess would be that it may be necessary for Office to be compatible for older files.

I got started with Serif PagePlus some years ago, Version 9 still works on Win11. The name has changed, now is Serif Affinity.
