I didn't need much., I just wanted to make it complaint with 11.. the 4 core 4 thread is fine for Photoshop and a better AMD processor would require a dedicated GPU and they are expensive.

"ships from China", though. I think I would have given that a pass. (Nothing against China, but the spread in shipping times is a bit much for my tastes.)

Last month I searched for APU Ryzen 5 3200G/3400G cause lots of positive reviews about its performance but it was a bit hard to find, and no fair price. So I quit and picked Core i5 10400 and got GTX 750 Ti VGA card from my son. He's been with Ryzen 9 3600x from 2014 and recently bought Radeon RX 5700 8GB and gave his old VGA card to me.

So you're switching motherboards as well? Or are you building an entirely new PC?

My old M/B was DH55PJ with 3rd Gen Intel and well with Windows 10. It was my plan to build new system with AMD that overall cost less than Intel system. But, for around two weeks I was unable to find Ryzen 5 3400G with good price. When my son knew my plan he told me that he is expecting an RX 5700 VGA card to arrive soon and offered his old VGA Card. So I did recalculate my budget and switched to Core i5 10th gen. Yes, I can say it's a new PC with free VGA card.
Seemed Windows 11 had caught me up. But it's OK cause it was about time to have a new build for Windows. I have laptop for daily driver but it's a Macbook.

I considered the 5 but in the end it wasn't worth it there's not much of a difference and the only shippers are from Korea,. So I reviewed the shipper I chose and it gets very good results. Yes,, it might take time but I'm really not in a hurry.

Right now I'm just keeping this rig going for a few more years and then I'll decided on what to do

Can you tell us the price you've paid?

The best with graphic your motherboard support is Ryzen 5 3350G or similar . Don't be fooled with the name (vs Ryzen 5 3400), as this is newer processor. But is hard to get. Its performance is on par with Intel I3 10100.

Presumably you needed a new motherboard as well, and possibly ram. Which mobo did you get ?

Got a cheap M/B from a local store, an MSI H510M Pro that is equivalent to $85. But it has two m.2 NVME slots.

Pretty slick.

The video card will work, but nVidia is dropping official support for it next month. And the motherboard has a physical TPM connection as well as supporting Intel's PTT. Should be good to go.
