Potential Miracast Fix, use the intel video driver, and I bought a Dell 7530 to replace broke Asus Q525ua

Been wanting to cast the entire desktop to a smart TV which does have Miracast, but win 11 pro never sees the TV as a device to cast onto, on windows keyboard type cntrl key + k
This person said installed intel drivers from intel and Miracast works until Win11 changes the driver back. So was planning to try this on an Asus laptop.

I also discovered that ASUS q525ua which broke the screen, I removed the screen hinge and all and plugged in an HDMI cable and it works as a PC again on a separate screen, so it still can have some use at home.

To replace that, I bought a Dell 7530 with I7-8850 cpu, 32GB ram, 512mb NVME and touch screen which has the 72% color Gamut and at least 300 nits for 275 plus 25 shipping. And win 11 pro, and P2000 Nvidia graphics, and the 180watt power brick. Good deal I think. Got to be careful about the screens as Dell made some with low 220 nits and low color gamut of 42%.

As I have said in other threads, Windows Update drivers provide the minimum possible functionality, for a graphics card they just make the card support more resolutions than the standard ones and have hardware acceleration. No any more features, including Miracast support, no control panel to tweak performance, colors etc. The same goes for the wireless network adapter. The Microsoft Update driver will connect you to your router, but nothing more, including Miracast support. That's why I recommend to download and install the official drivers from manufacturer. For graphics cards even this driver might be outdated, so it is a good idea to visit Intel/nVidia/AMD support site to download the latest for your card.

That poster from answers.microsoft, said win 11 reverts the driver eventually. Is there a way to stop it from doing that?

And is that intel driver link in my first post good enough to get that driver?

Yes, there are several utilities to check for Windows updates and then they let you select which ones to hide (block) so they never appear in Windows Update list and they don't get installed. The official utlity from Microsoft, the Windows Update Show/Hide Tool can be downloaded from here: Download Microsoft Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter
Microsoft claims it is for old Windows 10 version, but it works in all Windows 10 versions including 22H2 and in Windows 11 versions including 23H2. Search for updates and then check the box to hide a specific update.

An alternative is Windows Advanced Update (WAU) Manager which works similarly. You can download it from here: Download WAU Manager 3.5.1.0

I use Windows Update Show/Hide Tool to prevent replacing my official drivers in older computers and mess them.
