Right, been away for a while.

(yes I have previous experience of sfc and dism - I know these things can take a while..............)

So I will repeat the steps as in post #32, step 1 (again), will post (I thought I previously had):

So, as requested - post #32, step 1 (screenshot):

mrmatt · 2026-10-24T00:13:56-0400

OK, and .........

OK, so tried HD Sentinel (Free DOS version). Wouldn't work. Got a message saying 'Windows can't run this', so had to use the trial version instead.

I'll have to leave things there for now, until I can get around to performing HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (I've been running it up until now though, and no problems so far with it, it's been installed for a while now).

Thanks.

Seems like many of the commands that users are asked to manually run and post the output (either on a shared site or the thread), could be included in the "info gathering" script to run automatically, and post output as logs.

Makes it much easier for the user to re-run steps after making recommended changes.

Similar to what the Sysnative script does...

See if the computer will run this script: > post a share link

https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tuneup1-bat.317029/

If the above script does not run then run these manually:

Code:

sfc /scannow

Code:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Code:

chkdsk /scan

When possible post results for these commands:

Code:

Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_OSRecoveryConfiguration | Select-Object AutoReboot

Code:

Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_OSRecoveryConfiguration | Select-Object DebugInfoType

Code:

Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_PageFileUsage | Format-List *

Code:

bcdedit /enum '{badmemory}'
