Okay. Just found the two annoyances on this machine in New, and used hdmi's in #6 and mine in #12, and both worked when I ran them as Admin.

Sorry, didn't mean to be repetitive. I just thought being able to D/L the bats would be a lot easier than copying from here, opening a text editor, pasting, saving and naming as .bat, and then using as admin. Users just need to download, unblock, and run as admin the two bats.

@dacrone Please do it. OR explain to users that if they put the bat somewhere, then create a shortcut to it, and use the Properties of the shortcut to set it to Run as Administrator, a click on the shortcut will do the trick, without any more fuss. Personally, I find it just as easy to find the desired bat file in my folder of bats and reg files, right-click it, and click Run as Admin. Done. I have the bat files named Remove New Text Document and Remove New Bitmap Image. Clever, eh? Sometimes I am dazzled by my own brilliance. :zany:

To make an already existing batchfile self-elevating, all you basically have to do is just insert the following lines at the beginning:

Batch:

fsutil dirty query %SystemDrive% >nul || (

If you are referring to the code he posted in his post #43 above. That version got mangled by the forum software as a result of neither wrapping the code between code tags ([CODE][/CODE]) nor uploading it as a .bat file like @Wisewiz has done in #42.

All I know is it worked for me, I just copied the text into notepad and saved it as a .bat file

To paste a piece of code on the forum, like I said always enclose the pasted code in code tags to avoid issues. It's the </> button on the button bar atop the editor box.
