BTW, how do you know there is a defective memory slot? Memtest showing errors could mean something other than defective memory or memory slot. For example, one time when I was getting Memtest errors I found the CPU to be defective. Instead of blaming one thing you have to eliminate all possibilities.

I knew the DIMM slots were faulty because the A2 and B2 slots didn’t work out of the box. I RMA’d the RAM and CPU then retested the board with same results. That’s when I sent the board back to ASUS and they claimed to have repaired it.
