I tested OCCT in windows 10 using the iGPU, the display crashed and the system wouldn’t reboot into back windows so I wasn’t able to create an events log.

I ran diskpart, cleaned the OS drive, and reinstalled windows 11. The system rebooted as part of the installation process, and I got a green and red flickering screen.

I went into bios and put the display device setting on auto, plugged in my discrete GPU, and was able to continue installing windows 11.

Hi,

I just used the Xls format, I wasn’t entirely sure which would be best. I’ve had to reinstall windows again so I don’t have those particular logs. I’ll run occt again and resave them.

Here’s the tuneup log wire the revised permissions:

Tuneup plus has modified the settings so that your less likely to miss BSOD.

And if dump files are created the most useful dump files are more likely to be available.

Please post a new V2 for new crashes.

The RAM were reported RMA earlier in the thread.

Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

I got Memtest up and running. The RAM encountered errors and crashed the system. Now the computer is just in a boot loop. When I RMA’d the mobo it was for an issue with the DIMM slots, which ASUS claims to have repaired. I’m wondering if it would make more sense to just replace the board at this point.

If they are willing to swap then please swap components to identify the malfunctioning component.

Please post Memtest86+ on a repeat test for documentation.

It can be sent to Asus for RMA too.

And post a new V2.

I’d like to avoid getting into another RMA situation with ASUS, esp since I now suspect they didn’t repair the mobo correctly the first time. I can’t run Memtest anymore because my computer is in a perpetual boot loop now. If I can get out of the loop I’ll run v2 and post the logs.

I think we may be past that. I’m not showing a RAM not installed error which is what ASUS originally claims to have repaired the DIMM slots for. I’m throw in this piece of crap out of the nearest window. Thanks for all of your help.

AFAIK, ASUS doesn't repair motherboards. If you send them a motherboard for an RMA they will send you a replacement. That is what they did when I sent them a defective motherboard,

BTW, how do you know there is a defective memory slot? Memtest showing errors could mean something other than defective memory or memory slot. For example, one time when I was getting Memtest errors I found the CPU to be defective. Instead of blaming one thing you have to eliminate all possibilities.

That’s what I thought too. However, I sent my board to ASUS in April and they claimed to have repaired the DIMM slots. They sent me back the exact same board in the exact packaging I sent it in.

I knew the DIMM slots were faulty because the A2 and B2 slots didn’t work out of the box. I RMA’d the RAM and CPU then retested the board with same results. That’s when I sent the board back to ASUS and they claimed to have repaired it.

When they said they "repaired" it they most likely either sent your a new motherboard or refurbished one. I assume this was under an RMA. They normally only do board repairs if you request it for an out-of-warranty item. Of course you will pay for this.

That is verified by a Google (AI) search:
Yes, ASUS does offer board-level repair services, including component changes on motherboards and graphics cards. For in-warranty issues, they will repair or replace defective parts, or the entire unit, with new or reconditioned parts or products. For out-of-warranty repairs, they offer diagnostics and repair options, including component-level repairs where feasible.
BTW, when I sent an ASUS motherboard back to them under an RMA they sent me back a refurbished one. Unfortunately, it did not have a CPU retention bracket. I complained to them about that. They told me I should have removed the one from the old motherboard before I sent it to them. In other words I should have stripped the motherboard of all parts that are not permanently attached.
