System restore?

I am beyond frustrated. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have WASTED so much time trying to fix this. I don't have the patience to read screen after screen after screen after screen. I would uninstall OneDrive, but there is no option to uninstall it the programs file. I have deleted everything related to the software. THAT will end part of it.
So how do prevent EVERYTHING OneDrive from existing before I reinstall the program that will no longer have my graphs or notes??
That answers to your question have been posted by both fixer (post#14) and glasskuter (post#17). I also provided a link on how to access your files online in post#18. If you chose not to read them that's on you.

Good luck.

So I went to #14, and saw : Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon then Settings.)

Only there is no OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area (assuming it's the area down by the time and date stamp)-- and I can't seem to get one to come up. And there isn't one all along the bottom task bar.

I went into Program and Features to uninstall, as in previous Windows systems, and OneDrive is not listed. I read somewhere that OneDrive cannot be uninstalled. I did this step earlier, and I did it again since your posting. Maybe with all the dancing around on this laptop, I deleted it already?? How would I know?
When I open File Explorer, in the left side menu is shown OneDrive, right under videos. When I click on it I get a popup saying "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps settings page".. I tried to figure that app out and failed.

As for my previous post., Sorry if I'm getting frustrated, but trying to figure out all these pages, links, paths, etc, it's just making my head spin. I'm getting lost trying to figure this stuff out.

Richard58, i think that either it has been removed or disabled so it should not be a problem anymore ! You could save some pictures then check on the cloud to see if it saved them there ! That is how i checked mine after disabling/removing it some time ago & have not had any pictures show up !

OK, I'll have to play with it some and see what happens. I'll delete some since it says it's almost full. Test and Try.. Thank You.

Oh just hop in the "Wayback" machine and Go Back and 'START OVER.'

I never have any problems, like those expressed in this thread, because from the instant of install, One Drive is GONE, and system restore is set to ON, with about 20% of HD space reserved for Restore Points. Then I install the script that forces a new Restore Point to be created every time the PC is booted up. That script goes in the Startup Folder.

Life with Windows is just so much sweeter with OneDrive GONE and a fresh Restore Point in the box, after every boot up.

But then, what do I know, with only 40+ years of experience with PC's.
I do know about those things that give people problems and I just avoid those things.

TM
