If you right-click the Start Button, not just the taskbar, it brings up the Win+X menu... Task Manager is on there. That's what they were referencing.

Open task manager :LOL: then select the memory list (as shown) and it will show usage from high to low. Check what's using memory in the list. Search is pretty low on mine.

FYI I'd only pin it to the task bar if you have more than 1 monitor. Otherwise just right click on the task bar and you're good. It's only really useful pinned on the task bar if you have more than 1 monitor

Yeah mine was never a ram hugger, was search protocol using about 10% of my cpu, I have seem some people have ram related issues though. Not personally.

Tried and tested at the time and it still done the same thing for me, Not an issue for me, i've ran indexing off for years then just left it when coming to win 11 and it caused an issue so i booted it again. No difference to me whether its on or off.

Edit. Just restarted my pc after an update I hadn't done and I'm actually sitting at 29% idle on ram out of 16gb

I don't know how to disable indexing apart from services and drives, so I won't mess....??

Is this W10 OR W11?

Is it smart to turn off indexing, if yes how does one turn it OFF completely like in the attachment?

Would it affect relocating folders?
