Solved USB showing?

Doesn't matter. I have 4 on my old HP, 3 of which I've never used and they still show as empty drives in Explorer!

Can the multi W11 iso be copied to a USB.....will it be bootable  or would I need to redownload the multi iso on USB OR require to install Rufus?

Yes. I would definitely create backups.

Thanks.

I just did a clean install of Windows 11 on my old desktop. I took the ISO I wanted to use and used Rufus to create a bootable USB drive. When I made the drive I let Rufus bypass the need to use a MS account and the security checks. The desktop is 100% compatible. I just did it as a test. The only problem I have using my MS account when doing a clean install is that they will use the first five characters of your email address as your user name. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard for MS to include the option to choose our username. I guess they're too busy making new emojis and desktop stickers.

1. W11 despite being corrupt on sfc is running fine, no errors except sfc scan ones.
2. Created a Rufus based bootable W11 iso.

My question is regarding partitioning a laptop with a single drive.

a. I had it partitioned assuming that I would store MR backups, data etc. But MR backups cannot be restored on the same drive partition using recue media......am I correct?

b. Should a single main drive be partitioned or not.....any pros or cons?

c. If it should be, how should I create partitions during clean install?

d. The tech did it for me 7 months back using some command prompt > diskpart …how can this be done now by me, care to explain?

Thanks.

So you can consider taking no action yet.

c. If it should be, how should I create partitions during clean install?
The clean install procedure creates the partitions it needs. You do not have to take any action.
Clean Install Windows 11 - includes local account method - ElevenForumTutorials

You haven't said what Version your existing ISO is.

OK so the problem is not that you were trying to Repair install with an older Version's ISO.

You've still got the option of doing nothing other than just waiting for an updated ISO to be issued so you can see if that fixes the SFC & Repair install faults.
But I haven't seen anybody else report those faults in 22H2 and I know some people run SFC every time they breath.

All the best,
Denis

The laptop is running 22H2. 22621.608, which has sfc scan errors which aren't getting fixed.

So am doing a clean install of 22H2. 22621.608, earlier was a update.

Added:

@Try3 , Am not trying to perform a repair.

Thanks.🙏
