just think when they finally decide that age verification is mandatory across the board
every adult on the planet will need age verification and it brings a whole new meaning to these mega data centres.

You can decline but then you will be treated like a child and you won't be able to do online purchases or access restricted apps or websites.

U.S. courts could overturn this for privacy reasons. I don't think it's a done deal and even if it was, I'd lie as much as possible. It's none of their business, and out of principle, I don't owe Microsoft jack sh!t for anything.

Windows is currently the least user friendly OS of them all. That is if you compare it to any Desktop or Mobile OS currently in existance. I've tried them all.

MacOS is probably the most user friendly as a whole, especially if you count in the whole Apple ecosystem, although it has it quirks too.

Linux is very user friendly, and the Terminal is not really needed for anything although it helps a lot, just as CMD or PowerShell knowledge on Windows can also help you a lot.

Linux supports most common hardware very well. This part is more frustrating on a Mac, since they are moving completely in their own bubble and don't really need to focus that much on 3rd-party hardware support. It has become better though.

Software support is not a Linux issue really, nor is it a Mac issue either. The problem is MS and big software companies being heavily married because that is where the most money has been moving. This will most likely change soon, and the transition has already partially begun, since people can't affort the pricing models anymore.

One thing that keeps MS and Windows going is deals with harware companies and the fact that on an x86 PC Windows is the default OS provided. There has been a tiny shift here too though. Nothing to write home about, but the signals are there.

One thing on the other hand, that keeps Linux from not progressing as fast as it could, is the FOSS ideology, which hardware vendors aren't that keen on working with, because there is no or little money in FOSS.

Sorry, but I disagree. Windows is much more easier to use because most of us are familiar with some version of it. Also because it has a helpful Wizard (aka step-by-step guide) on almost every application. I haven't seen many Linux applications do that. Some don't even have a Help file. Mac OS is easy too, but sometimes you have to use commands in the Terminal for advanced settings. In Linux you need the Terminal every time you have to do something more than using already installed apps or configure something. The software and hardware support in Linux is low because the user base is small and not every company can afford to allocate resources and human working hours for Linux. That's the main reason Windows has much greater support for software and hardware and of course games. The huge user base. It's worth investing human working hours and resources on Windows.
