once back up, log into the local admin and run system restore. see if there is a point prior to windows update. cant do anything about the bios update... i just want to see if we can get your Microsoft folder to reappear

Ok I'm back into the recovery window in windows 11, Imthe system restore point now only shows one which was just before I ran the restore today, so the ones before the update are gone atleast currently, I'm running a restore to the only one that's on the list, I'm not sure why they are gone though

Honestly the rest is just painful just setting up logins again and software ect, but mostly if I can get my Firefox current tabs working that would be fine, I will say after doing the restore point the login window is different and has been for alittle bit now, like before there was more options like the pin icon but that's not there anymore only the sign in which Is a dull sign in compared to the admin account which has a white border

I just checked the app data for the Matty user and there was no Microsoft folder :/

It does show the same error after I have signed in with my password, it really wants me to setup a pin but just fails on that which is pretty annoying

log out of the admin. launch command prompt from the ease of access mod we made earlier. run this and reboot:

Code:
icacls C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Ngc /T /Q /C /RESET

I just ran that within CMD I ran it though holding shift and restart and opened the CMD that way if that's ok?

Sadly on restart and logging into the main Microsoft account it shows the something went wrong on the pin page

I know this likely wouldn't have done anything, but I tried to copy over the windows folder from the test admin to the main Microsoft account and it started to but then said replace files in destination, but unless there is already a folder surely it wouldn't say that? I cant see anything there labelled Microsoft as you saw too

what happens if you manually browse to it by typing the full path into the address bar?

C:\users\matty\appdata\local\Microsoft\

I actually booted into windows 10 to check this as the start menu seems to be pretty broken which i think is from copying the admin files they wasn't just dragged or from the restores im not 100% sure, but within windows 10 i couldnt see the windows folder (its my F drive on windows 10) but if i search that directory you wrote it is found weirdly:

up to you how much more effort you want to put into this.

we can leave your old profile intact for now. no reason to blow it away yet, as we can continue to troubleshoot later.

log into the system local administrator account
create a new local admin account (named Matt or whatever you like)
log into that new account
launch firefox once to get it to create all of its paths.
log out of that new local admin account.
log into the system local administrator account
do the steps here to COPY the entire firefox profile over.

I'm ok with trying to troubleshoot further, but if we can confirm that the firefox tabs/ latest session is backed up thats perfectly fine then i will feel better about trying whatever. Was there want to be a link within your message too? Thanks :)
