but I did nothing (which, if I don't blow it by posting on the forum, might get in the way of becoming a guru).

Not as easy as you think, but aim for the stars and you'll get there. There are only 12 gurus here and they worked and helped long and hard to earn the recognition. If you work with one on the forum, you can pretty well take what they say as gospel.....most of the time. Usually their advice is spot on. Ain't that right, @Ghot?

I cackled when I read that, John.
Seriously, though, some folks don't realize that YOU stay on top of your own forum and know everything that goes on here. That's one of the things that has always set your forums apart from the others. It's actually managed.

I remember back in the SF/TF days, any lounge topics had the "add rep" button removed because of this problem. It does sort of defeat the purpose of having a reputation system though when most of the "Gurus" are experts in saying "Good Morning". Personally, I would have had user titles which are given out by the Admins and no rep system.

Just to verify, did you "Watch" threads like below you want to get email updates for?

In addition, check you junk and spam folders to see if the emails may have filtered.

I’m not saying I’m special or anything but I have never seen another “Thread Starter” trophy on this forum. Since Trophy’s are, by definition, indicative of an achievement, I humbly accept (and thank all the Pros, VIPs, Pros with start, Power Users, Staff members, and ESPECIALLY the GURUs, and the ONE AND ONLY Windows Insider MVP for having proposed or supported this honor.

However, to address the bureaucrat who may have failed to properly “pin it to my epaulet”, I would like to say that I was informed that I had won two trophies. Though I was informed of this fact while in elevenforum.com, and though it is in this forum alone where my trophy is displayed this is not this forum in which I displayed the talent this trophy bespeaks (in fact, if I read the responses to the one post I began in Win11, I detected a scent of disapproval levied merely because I posted on this forum). It is Win10 where I have birthed 8 or so new threads and in which my honor ought be displayed. To rectify this mistake, please read to the very end of this entry where I disclose who I am in Win10 forum.

p.s. Oh, by the way, "Good Morning" and "Isn't the weather great today"!

Lest you be distraught that Jro11 does not deserve the title “Thread Starter” rest assured, I am learning Win11 and it won’t be long before I will question it on this forum.

Everyone gets a trophy when they hit a point on this forum, hence the trophy for thread starter, you posted your first thread. Everyone who has posted a thread gets the thread starter trophy.

At least this is how I understand it.

You won't because they're given to you privately. Trophies are just XenForo "achievements" and are set up by Admins to be anything they want. They're automatically given when you complete a certain action and everyone gets one, they aren't given out on an individual basis and no one proposed or considered anything.

These are the default ones: Trophies
