For some reason i cannot seen to rename long files to short ones.
When i click the rename icon to shorten it and when i have finished the file name reverts back to original long file name.
Re-started pc to see if this could solve issue..issue still there.

What could be causing this ?

Thank you

Found a a solution...i make a copy of file into a new folder and rename it there and then place the renamed file back into original
folder location.
I could not rename file in original folder location and previously could.Anyway, this works.

Hi there. To solve your issue you can have a look at Option 2, further in my post, or if that doesn't work, check out Option 1.

OPTION 1 (Software)

Download Total Commander:

WEBSITE: Total Commander - Download

DIRECT DOWNLOAD: https://totalcommander.ch/win/tcmd1052x64.exe

Choose language, select No, Next, Next and Next, then click OK.

Open Total commander, find the files you want to rename and then select them, and then this icon:

OPTION 2 - MUCH PREFFERED CHOICE

Use 7zip or WINRAR to renmae them, just open your prefered one and then direct to the folder, and rename the file as you wish!
