My Photo Pad Editor has superceded PSE as default, but dont know why. I checked PSE settings but cannot find set as default?

My guess is that you have already tried to change the Windows default apps setting, yes?

If you're talking about NCH software, it's very aggressive software! Check all settings and defaults in both applications!

there was nothing there to change, that I found

Edit: Found it. I have to change default for every photo type
