Hard Drive Health

Hi Guys
Can i ask for some advice please every now and again windows says it need to scan my D Drive for errors some time there are errors and mostly not but today i ran Crystal Disk Info and it reported Caution as in screenshot is this something i should be worried about and can it be fixed please

You can still use the hard drive, but you should have a solid backup because hard drive could and would die any time also your data could be written to bad sectors which is why Windows 11 keep trying to repair bad sectors.

As FreeBooter noted, make sure you have good backups of any important data on that drive. Typically, when I start seeing a slew of reallocated sectors starting to pop up, I see the drive fail not long after that. If it was me, I would suggest migrating off that drive.

Another thing to try: Try running diagnostic tools from Seagate on that drive to see what it has to say about the dive.

As others have said backup the drive as soon as possible - preferably immediately, caution indicates the drive is having problems so is warning you it’ll need replacing soon.

I have run the seagate tool and on the short test it passed ok

Probably... replace it sooner than soon. Especially if that data on that drive is important to you.

NOTE: SSDs seems to be "almost" cheaper than hard drives these days. And they are a LOT faster.
