I need a plain old calendar for Windows 11

I can disable the Windows Notification center with the following tutorial, but it kills the Windows calendar.

So, for peace of mind, I'd like a plain old calendar, just like the Windows 11 calendar so I can employ the above tutorial.
The calendar doesn't need to take notes, or schedule things... it just needs to be a calendar.

It doesn't need to sync, it doesn't need to look like a spread sheet, it doesn't need to do anything except show me the days of the month.

Any suggestions?

I just tried the Winaero website tweak to use the old Windows 7 calendar... it doesn't work... anymore.

I also have absolutely everything turned OFF in Settings for either Notifications or for Focus.

Since Oct 2021 (aka Windows 11), I've tried everything I can think of to DESTROY Notifications and Focus.
Between the tutorials, REVO and Winaero... I've KILLED all the other dumb stuff MS has come up with.

The absolute "Final Boss Monster" in Windows 11, seems to be Notifications and Focus.

I Googled, multiple times... basic Windows calendar.
Can't find a damn calendar that doesn't come with junk like a secretary and an assistant.

So do I.

BUT... when I disable Notifications (tutorial in post #1).... the calendar doesn't work anymore.
The time/date in the Taskbar, are still there... but clicking on them, does nothing.

In the store is an app called "Simple Calendar" It's a plain old 6 month calendar. To go backward and forward, select hamburger icon and select app commands to change layout. So basic, it doesn't do anything but tell you what day it is. It's easy to use when pinned to start menu. It might be what you want.

I saw that. I'd rather just have one month with the tiny arrows, to switch months.
Just like we've had for the past 25+ years.
Yeah... I know I'm being picky.

But like I said in post #1...

The absolute "Final Boss Monster" in Windows 11, seems to be Notifications and Focus.

I entered the last room, and saw the boss... Notifications!

I tried every move I have...
Whirlwind, fireball, bombs, leap and down stab with sword, lightning, thunderbolt, spells, curses, potions... everything.
No matter what I do... killing Notifications, kills the calendar.

Q: Why do I want to kill Notifications?

A: My OCD told me too.

There's no rush... I've been working on this since July 2021.

This is the first time the "boss monster" came for me...

Some of the pics in the post below, may be shocking. It shows how the W11 calendar looked, 4.5 years ago.

Well, I figured it out. It was a left over checkmark in Winaero Tweaker's "Disable Action Center". Once UNchecked, the calendar is back. I also got the "Quick Access" flyout back. Thanks all for your help. Your suggestions allowed me to eliminate looking in a LOT of places. :)...

I just turn off notifications here manually. My calendar is working.

And it probably has Notifications panel above the calendar, and Focus at the bottom?

I want the stuff in the YELLOW boxes gone, too...

When I do the "Disable Notifications" tutorial in the OP, it removes the bell icon, and I assume the other two yellow box items as well. But... it breaks the calendar.

You can test it yourself...
Do Option #2 in here. It's just two registry patches. One to disable the other to enable Notifications.
You need to sign out to apply.

Do the Disable one first, then sign out and back in. The BELL will be gone, and the calendar won't work.
Then, you can do the Enable one, to put things back to normal.

Well, if EP can do it... then there IS a way.

Maybe one day, I'll install EP, and start RegShot.
I'll take the first "shot", then pick the Win 10 clock in EP, and then take the 2nd "shot".
Then, compare the "shots" and see what changed in the registry.

Then... hopefully, I'll know what registry settings need to be put into a reg patch, to Enable the Win 10 calendar.

If it's just an overlay for the W11 calendar... then with Notifications disabled...

Plus... it's kind of big and ugly.

At least you're the closest so far.

I'm not real big on colorful and noisy.
