I found this to completely remove because even if you don't show them they still run in the background. How to uninstall Widgets in Windows 11 - gHacks Tech News
I like having weather on the task bar though so I installed Tray Weather from GitHub, just shows temperature and conditions neatly in the task bar.

This is exactly the reason I want a solution to this. I don't like news. But the widgets itself in Win11 is pretty decent. Shame I have to disable it completely just to avoid the news section.

Info on the exact name to uninstall which ever ones you don't want to

Code:

Get-AppxPackage | Select Name, PackageFullName >"$env:userprofile\Desktop\Apps_List.txt"

Provisional apps list to desktop
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -PackageTypeFilter Bundle | Select-Object Name, PackageFullName >"$env:userprofile\Desktop\Provisioned_Apps_List.txt"
Option 4 & 5 here
