  • After installing the AMD Chipset Installer version “7.xx.xx.xx”, users cannot install version “6.xx.xx.xx” or earlier.
    Workaround:
    • Un-install the AMD Chipset installer version 7.xx.xx.xx or newer.
    • Delete the “Qt_Dependencies” folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software\".
    • Install AMD Chipset installer version 6.xx.xx.xx or older.
  • On a non-English OS, some driver names may appear in English. 
  • Occasionally, Ryzen PPKG may not install or upgrade.
  • Yellow bang on AMS Mailbox driver on the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 9000 Series Processors [AMD WRX90] on Win10 OS.

Just put my PC together, with new PSU (old one died), installed this driver and no idea why but got much better scores for 3D graphics.

Have you tried running the installer and only selecting one item at a time to upgrade?

Huh. I had 4, and I always upgrade every time a new one comes out. Though, technically, the power plan is not an actual driver lol...

Interesting. I wonder if the PSP driver is for the AMD fTPM? I have mine disabled because MSI took interminably too long to release a BIOS fw update that was compatible with Windows 11, so every time I updated the BIOS it was cleared (although that should not have been the case). So I bought a physical TPM module for my mobo.

I banned Windows from automatic driver updates, maybe that's why I always get 6.

Nah. The scanner shows everything necessary, even if it has already been updated to the latest version. I'm not getting the PSP one (which, now based upon this Phoronix article AMD Reportedly Allows Disabling PSP Secure Processor With Latest AGESA - Phoronix may actually be disabled on my system) - and yet the only thing I know I've disabled is the fTPM on account of the physical one being installed.

I have driver updates (from MS), blocked on Win 10 and Win 11.
I think it's just related to what hardware exists.
And I'm on the latest BIOS available for my motherboard.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
Appeared to install ok but the Summary log is showing Fail for the Power plan driver. According to the Reliability monitor it installed correctly.
8.0.0.13 is the same as the previous driver install. I don't know if it showed as Fail last time.

Edit: I uninstalled the drivers from Control panel, restarted and ran the AMD installer again. This time the Power plan showed install Success.

It did seem to be OK first time but anything with a failure annoys me!

I actually tried that - I installed just the Power plan, it showed as Failed again even though the Reliability monitor said it was installed correctly. Only after completely uninstalling, restarting and re-installing again did it show as Success.

Nah, I mean that you have to actually click hover on any selection to see if the currently installed version is the same as what the package provides or not, which is bad programming on their part. It should show you what needs to be installed versus what is already installed and at the latest version. (though ISTR that it usually has green colors, so that might be the factor I'm not considering)
