We now know the trade in offers that will be available to those with older V8, v7, and v6 one-time licences, and for recently purchased perpetual v8 licences.

For Reflect Home users who purchased V8 before July 1, 2024:
You are eligible for two options. The first option is 50% off Annual plans for life. Option 2 is our “Better than Black Friday 2024 Offer:” 3 years for the price of 2:

If you choose 50% off annual plans for life, you will have to trade in your current Reflect Home V8 license.

If you choose 3 years for the price of 2, you can keep your Reflect Home V8 license. This amount must be paid up front and at the end of the plan, customers may renew based on offers available at the time (or return to your one-time license.)

Did you test backups made using build 8731 and later?
Yes, I can mount any image including one I made yesterday with the latest version of Reflect X and a backup made 2 years ago using Reflect 8.

Yes, I can mount any image including one I made yesterday with the latest version of Reflect X and a backup made 2 years ago using Reflect 8.

Ok that's good to know, for me i only get the error with backups made with build 8731 and 8750, older ones open just fine. So it's some kind of bug; i am still testing various things one by one in order to identify where the issue lies exactly. Problem is volume to be backed up is ~3TB and i am limited by the SATA speed on the destination drive; so i will report back with new findings by the end of the day hopefully.

Tried lots of things but no solution so far. Some notable findings though:
- Backing and mounting a different volume with build 8750 works
- Problem only exists only on the main partition of the imaging drive

I still don't understand how and why when everything checks out:

I can only suspect an issue with CBT feature in these 2 last versions or an issue with the backed up volume size (2.25TB, unlikely).
I will now downgrade to Build 8576 that was previously known fully working for me, and see what i find out.

New findings after multiple clean installs:

-Problem is specifically with builds 8731 and 8750 (8665 i haven't tested, but it should be fine)
-Build 8576 works perfectly fine, it even mounts the problematic image made with build 8750, proof:

    Image Mounting
        -The option to mount images writable has been reintroduced for Reflect X. Please note that this functionality mirrors that in previous versions of Reflect and all changes will be lost when the image is dismounted.
        -In some cases, dismounting an image could fail to remove the drive letter from Windows Explorer. This issue has been resolved.


Only happens for me on this specific volume, no idea why it doesn't work with their new mounting system, it's just plain NTFS. I also tested the 2 mounting options you are given but it doesn't make a difference. I am on W10 22H2 19045.6691 with latest ESU updates (i know this is "W11" forum but it's the only open discussion i found on the web for the latest build of macrium reflect)

If you can pass the issue through to Macrium then you are free to do it.

yes 2 times, chkdsk /f /r as i mentioned in my previous posts.
As for my findings it's definitely just a mounting "driver" issue with the last 2 builds.
You just have to sign up to the Macrium Community Forum.
The forum is quite dead these days, but someone will eventually respond to you.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I wasn't aware of that. I've been a forum member for a long time. They may have changed things since I signed up all those years ago.

How are you using your Reflect X? Are you using a 30-day trial, bought a subscription, or traded in a v8 licence for a 3-year Reflect X plan at no extra cost?

As long as you're not just using the trial software, then your Reflect X is entitled to support and its key will get you into the forum.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

You just have to sign up to the Macrium Community Forum.
The forum is quite dead these days, but someone will eventually respond to you.

Anyway the more important point is that if you lease VX you are entitled to support from the Macrium Reflect Team as long as the lease is active. You just have to raise a support ticket.

With perpetual V8 licences support was only for one year.

No point in OP raising dramatic posts here - talk to the proper support team!

I wasn't aware of that. I've been a forum member for a long time. They may have changed things since I signed up all those years ago.
People are giving you inaccurate information confusing the forum with support.

1. Support is a formal system where you log a request to the support team, get given a ticket and query is given by a member of the Macrium Reflect Team.

This support is now only to paid members who lease VX. V8 users can no longer use this as all the versions in use are over 1 year old.

2. The forum is more or less the same as this forum where any member can try and help others if they get issues.

The forum is readonly to those who do not have a paid version (the old Macrium Reflect Free). Anybody with a perpetual paid licence or a VX licence can this forum as read and write i e. make posts.

This forum is very knowledgeable in helping you sort issues but they cannot fix bugs (any more than we can fix Windows 11 bugs).

So NO - nothing has changed in terms of user access.

For all those who are anti lease, many fail to recognise the significance of unlimited support provided you have a lease. I have had a couple of issues sorted within a few days

In one case I identified a design flaw in VX, not critical but inconsistent handling of information about excluded files and guess what - it was fixed in next update!

Reflect vX is in Current Support, Reflect v8 is in still in Extended Support until 22nd January 2026.

For the rest it is Self-Service support, which includes getting help on the Macrium Forum. Anyone who has a paid-for licence for v6, v7, v8, or vX should be able to register for the Macrium Forum, who's members include Macrium representatives.

I seem to be having issues with the latest version 10.0.8750 in recovery mode - touchpad doesn't work, making recovery mode a brick (as my mouse is MX Master 3S)
Does anyone have or can provide links to the preceding ver X releases as I can't seem to find them anywhere, and I may have to uninstall and go back to an earlier version.
v10.0.8576 (bootable USB) works fine so they've definitely effed up the latest version...
