New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Maybe, but the developer of Startallback won't make W10 Start Menu option.
Probably because he doesn't want to attempt to incorporate the Live Tile BS!
A plain Jane version would be okay, but...,
Nothing wrong with the default menu, either.

The Start11 menu doesn't have Live tile BS and it works decently. Their taskbar options are also okay.
I would prefer something not from StarDock but at least I can have my Start menu back.

I don't want to force anyone to work on something they don't want though. There was a solution for my need, and I am using. Windows11 has a lot of issues. The freaking AMD Adrenalin context menu option slows down the context menu and I wasn't able to fix it by deleting the registry entry.
Had to install just driver without Adrenalin. Freaking ridiculous. Spent 3 hours finding a solution.
Then there's the File Explorer side panel that just wants to make me shout at the freaking idiot that thought that hardcoding the quick access menu as visible was a good idea.
Freaking morons.

I don't see why the project would be abandoned ; At the time of writing, @valinet logged on to the forum for the last time... Today. If the project was abandoned, he would probably announce that, unless for some reason he gave up altogether. Except that the login date PROVES otherwise.
Most likely, Valinet is simply out of time.

Besides, I have already read many times the speeches like "the project is dead", "in any case, the project relies on components that can be removed by MS"...
So far, none of this has happened.
As for the start menu, I can't say for sure (I'm not on Windows 11), but the most likely is a change in a link, an API or the Registry; it's pretty unlikely that it's a component deletion. By the way, there are many old (pre-Windows 8) alternative taskbar projects. In any case, UWP applications do not display or display poorly. Keep in mind that the UWP system is poorly designed, simpler than Win32 for average users, but extremely difficult to understand for advanced users. Just look at the registration system; By default, a UWP application does not open after being registered in various ways, and of course with several processes open, including explorer.exe. Whereas a Win32 application is generally completely self-contained.

It is not all about Valinet, he did a fantastic job getting it started and improving it but don't forget, he may well have other commitments and a job to do as well and other people can add things and suggest things on the Github

can it make t-clock visible ?
all i need only make taskbar smaller and t-clock run on taskbar
I never had any problem with T-Clock when I was running StartAllBack.
But I see someone posted saying they had trouble with it. It wasn't my experience.
I'd give it a try.

I know what you mean about a smaller taskbar.
For some reason, everything seems to be growing bigger in Windows 11.
And have a look at all the wasted space above, below and in between the icons.
Maybe they're trying to introduce it to infants.

Make a system image backup before you change anything.
That way, you save yourself time reverting everything back if you're not happy with it.

I think, sadly, it's the trend towards touch-screen support. While we are no longer faced with the utter disaster that was Windows 8 (I shudder at the thought!), and many UI elements are 'selectable' between touch and mouse, there's still a fair number of 'common elements' that are being presented. There's only so much 'user configurable' stuff they are willing to support. I go out of my way to buy laptops without touch screen support so this bugs me no end!

In explorer, go to Options, then on the General Tab, under Open File Explorer To, change from 'Home' to 'This PC'.
That's not what I am talking about. I am talking about the side pane with the Home icon and OneDrive icons at the top and the non-collapsible quick access icons.

The reason for people wanting old menus back is that it's not always the same people asking for it. Crazy, I know...
I loved the W10 menu because I could use to replace desktop icons. I love empty desktops with beautiful wallpapers and no icons cluttering them.
On Windows 7 I used Fences for that.

On Windows 10 I pinned and organized the icons in the Start Menu. With the plus that I had a nice Weather Live Tile in there as well.
No other Windows menu allows me to do this like the W10 menu. The W11 is not for me. Start11 allows me to customize the taskbar as well.
If this stupidity keeps up I might eventually decide to go to a Linux distro and install Office 365 in a KVM VM. But I ain't there yet.

Hi,
Sorry but linux ? really this about as lame of an os as there is
If steam hadn't done what they have done for linux it would of disappeared long ago and probably still should because linux is still lame so go back to 8.1 or 10.

note: i think explorerpatcher are NOT stop development, but right now it no need any update i think :D

Since the Windows 10 start menu is one of the key features in ExplorerPatcher and broken with the 2023 cumulative patch, it certainly needs an update :D

I've now switched to StartIsBack and only enabled the UI improvements and the taskbar. The Windows 11 Start menu is okay, not as horrendous as the one from Treshold, but it could be better without all the recommended stuff and the "All Apps" button at the top :D For this reason, I still prefer the Windows 10 menu, as it combines everything.
