Solved PC Troubles After RAM Upgrade

so my pc started to be weird after i changed the RAM and it started blue screening so often randomly (most times is when i shut down my pc) and other weirdness like browser, discord, and windows explorer just crash at random times

Reseat the memory to see if any difference. If no change-try with one stick of memory, then the other to determine which one is bad, or if both need replacing.


Reset the RAM modules by reconnecting the RAM modules.
Blow off any loose dust or debris from the RAM using canned air. Hold the module by its edges.
Clean the contacts using a soft cloth that does not leave fibers behind, such as a lens cleaning cloth slightly moistened with rubbing alcohol.

For starters, try the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.

There is more robust RAM testing software available, but this is a relatively quick test.

If you've gone to 4 DIMMs, that may have more compatibility issues than 2.

Reseating the ram is a good idea, but I would suspect either incompatible ram or a defective stick.

What ram did you have to start with and what ram do you have now? (make/.model/size/speed) Did you mix ram modules or do they match?

If you are overclocking, have you tested with OC turned off?

If reseating or process of elimination doesn't narrow it down, run free version of Memtest86. Download it and create bootable media. Boot from the usb. Set it for 2 tests, 4 passes each. It will take a while so I suggest you run it overnight.

i tried reseating them and nothing changed. the ram is venomrx 2x8 ddr4 2666. i also tried memtest86 but it passed all test

Check to see if the RAM is or is not on the motherboard's Qualified Vendor List (QVL).

The installed RAM modules were not seen on the QVL.

Since you had no issue with the old ram, could you please put in the original ram back in and run it for a day or two. It could be a coincidence that the trouble started with the new ram. If it's trouble free, this will verify nothing was damaged when you replaced the ram and will narrow the trouble down to the new sticks themselves. If it happens with the old ram you either damaged something or the trouble lies elsewhere. If that be the case I suggest you follow the link at the top of this page. Once you gather the required information per the instruction, upload the zipped file to any cloud provider and provide a link to the file. Then @zbook or others proficient in analyzing logs will instruct you further.
BSOD - Posting Instructions

The best I can tell the Ryzen 3 3200g is Zen+ (Picasso) The specs of your motherboard says:
AMD Ryzen series CPUs (Picasso) support DDR4 2933 / 2667 / 2400 / 2133 non-ECC, un-buffered memory*

I could not find any information on the Venomrx site that gives full specs of their ram. I am not familiar with the brand Venomrx but it appears that company uses SKHynix chips which I am familiar with.

Edit: Sorry zbook I did not see you had already responded. I had this thread open a long time before I entered my post. We cross-posted. @nfs He will steer you in the right direction.

It's only "2933"-rated, because Picasso is based on second-generation Ryzen, TMK. (despite the 3000-branding!)
Zen+, IIRC.

For RAM-related issues, "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA" and "BAD_POOL_HEADER" are common stop codes.

Another one to look for, is "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT".

i just check the link you posted, my old ram also not in that list (not the specific ones i have, but the brand is there)(it's team elite 2x4gb ddr4 2400)

i manage to find the faulty ram by testing them 1 by 1. i still don't know what's wrong with it but it can be warranted. thank you all for your help.
