I have the PerfLogs folder in C:\ folder, normally it asks for administrator permission to open it, today i opened it (i did not ever accept the administrator permissions and i checked in the permissions of that folder, and it did not have the username permissions i checked on another pc and the permissions were the same) but the folder opened without asking any permissions.. but the others folder like "temp" normally asks the administrator permissions. i tried to create a folder in that folder and it creates 4 folder at once, but i want to ask how can i fix the folder because even if i don't have the right permissions the folder still opens.. Thanks

In short: i can open the perflogs folder even if i don't have the right permissions

(edit: i tried to delete the folder and recreating it using performance monitor but it doesn't fix it)

For the life of me, I can't figure out why you attempted to make a folder within C:\Perflogs. This folder should not have been messed with nor should any other system folders . If you can open it, the ownership of the folder has somehow changed. You can try changing ownership but I have a feeling it won't work.

This folder should be read only with an owner name system.
Right click on folder, properties, make sure read only is checked.
Click security tab, advanced. Under owner click change. Advanced. Find now. Scroll down and select system. OK.
IF it changes, under permissions make sure system has full control.

You probably won't have permissions to make this change so you need to see if the system can repair itself.
To make sure all the system files are in order open administrative cmd and type sfc /scannow

If System File Checker finds files it cannot fix, from administrative cmd type Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (note the spaces)

Hopefully that will get everything fixed. If not, the only other suggestion I can give is to do a repair install. Since the ownership of this folder has changed somehow, there's a good chance others may as well. Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial
