I'm not sure if Microsoft will still leave the wanted free space at 64GB but if they do I definitely won't be able to install on this HP as mine only has just over 26GB on it.

This laptop has a 128GB SSD and a 1TB HD, even though I have it set for new stuff to install and run from the HD and I've not got any unnecessary programs installed. I have everything I can move from the C: drive to the D: drive but the space on C: just keeps shrinking. I do know what does annoy me is the amount and size of the Framework updates that get installed.

I had to enable PTT in my bios on an MSI Z370 Pro MB. Once system rebooted everything checks out and passes win 11 test.

At first, after I dl and checked. It said my PC wasn't ready. I have a 3700x and an ASUS TUF x570 MoBo. I went into the BIOS and checked the fTPM option. It was on Discrete. Changed it to Firmware TPM. Rechecked. And my PC passed lol.

I had option to Enable TPM in Bios Settings in HP laptop. Check BIOS under security. There are actually 2 options related to TPM.
This image is of my 2nd system, but you will find same options on HP laptop as well.

It would be nice if the tool actually told you WHY you cannot run Windows 11 instead of bringing you to a page to peddle Windows 11 compatible computers to purchase because ......... THAT'S not gonna happen anytime soon.

I would quite like to keep this ancient b75 machine going forever , it is only 3rd gen but I have no desire to retire it. Maybe it would work if a tpm module can be sourced it is a GC-TPM2.0_S 2.0. I have just discovered that there are stocks in Slovakia, but there is no obvious way of getting it posted.

Something no one seems to have made a connection to yet.

The TPM 2.0 spec was first approved by tsg in 2015, and became an official ISO standard in 2016.

Notable CPUs that we think should be on the list are not - but look also at their release dates.

8th gen CPUs announced Sep 2017, first released Oct 2017.

1st gen Ryzen released before September 2017, not on the list.

Can anyone else see the pattern and connect the dots, yet?

On some VM systems you might be able to install a TPM emulator -- I did that as a test disabling the actual hardware BIOS TPM - and checked - before installing the TPM emulator Windows Guest (W11) didn't recognize any TPM module even though the "Virtual hardware" was added in the VM so you need a proper device (whether physical or emulated) that Windows can actually recognize.

Installing the emulator and re-booting the VM the Windows VM recognised TPM . I haven't tried yet on a Windows HOST as I need to find a TPM Emulator for a Windows HOST machine but those of you who are OK with Linux the IBM TPM emulator works a treat.

On Linux install package swtpm plus any dependent libraries.

Then from Host console. (When using KVM / libvirt you don't need to start the tpm (swtpm) daemon - it's done automatically when you power on the VM.

TPM emulator version 0.6.0, Copyright (c) 2014-2021 IBM Corp.


From Windows VM : the tpm module it found shown agrees with the IBM TPM emulator installed on the HOST.

So it seems likely even if TPM requirements "firmed up" for W11 a "get around" will be able to work as a VM with an emulated TPM module even if none exists on your PC.

Or, you wait and see if someone develops workarounds to make Win 11 usable on non-supported machines.

I mean, it may try to be RTM by October, but for the end user the availability is not for over 6 months.

A lot can happen in 6 months.

My machine--a whopping 11 months old--isn't eligible due to the TPM issue as well. Specifically, it has a header on the board but no module. So before the mass stampede to Newegg and Amazon etc began, I ordered a 14-1 pin module.

Oh, and somehow this actually stings but...I got kicked out of the Insiders Beta channel because of this. Sometime today, without my knowledge, MS booted me to the Release Preview channel. Geez, Windows 11 is non-stop, action-packed lately. Anyone else experience this? Ouch, right?
