Problem with Windows 11 installation from USB recovery

Hi:
I'm trying to install Windows 11 in my HP laptop from a USAB recovery. The process stop on the network connection, no finding drivers for the wireless adapter.

I found a few solutions on line, like the "Shift + F10" to go to command prompt or activate a virtual machine to do that. No one worked in my case, also the little Accessibility icon on the right corner is disable.
In my last try I got a message to install the drivers for the wireless adapter. I downloaded two possible drivers from the HP web support and expanded in my desktop. The problem is the laptop can't see any file in the USB I'm using to copy the drivers.

I'll really appreciate any help on this matter, because is already a week with this issue and I really need the laptop for work.

No, I couldn't take it out, that's it. I'm still having the problem and I already tried many fixes online, but nothing works. I really appreciate any help on that. Best.

you can install Win11 without a internet connection. it should give you the option at the bottom of the
enter your email address section, there should be a line 'i have no internet connection'

it maybe an idea to disconnect the computer from the internet then install Win11 you can get the network drivers after the install.
you can use another computer or a live Linux distro on USB to get the required drivers.

Hi there. Can we get a couple of specifics, could you respond to all questions:

1. Are you trying to install from a HP propriatorey Recovery Partition on your HP to reset to factory defaults?

OR

2. Are you trying to install Windows 11 from USB media created using a Microsoft Windows ISO?

You mention a “Recovery” USB which is why I ask. You don’t install Windows using a Recovery USB, you use an install media USB. You would however usually use a Recovery USB to install from the laptop recovery partition.

3. Are you wanting to install Windows 11 with a Microsoft Account or a Local Account?

I'm doing option 2, with a recovery USB downloaded from Microsoft. The only option I had is to install the drivers for the wireless, nothing else. The problem is that the files are invisibles for the computer. I heard about problems with HP laptops with 11 generation Intel processors. Could be that??

As far as I can tell, your HP Laptop supports both SSE4.2 and has the required TPM to operate and install Windows 11 24H2. Assuming that you have recently downloaded an ISO from Microsoft and are using it to install Windows.

As for the internet connection, as Steve (XxXxX) mentions above, you can install Windows without a connection and assume that the drivers needed are then available.

Do you know how to enter your Laptop BIOS? Reset it to defaults. Because I don’t know why the networking isn’t already available.

What was running on the laptop prior to the current issue?

Would you like a link to an ISO for 23H2? I have one on my server that was made available to a couple of other members and can private message you. I’d rather not post it here as I I’d like to control server traffic.

Yeah, I enter at the Bios to change the Boot sequence to the USB. You suggested that is something wrong there and I'll need to reset to the default config??

It wouldn’t hurt, then reboot and repeat the boot from USB process.

The drivers for your laptop for Windows 24H2 are here, but I couldn’t advise you on how to add the Wireless driers to the install media.


Have you tried connecting the laptop to Ethernet before starting the process?

Also, I received some suggestions online, about to be sure that the hard drive is clean of any prior installations, before trying a new one. What do you thing about that??

Unfortunately, the 23H2 version didn't work either. It stop at the same step. No Shift+F10 key or Shift+Fn+F10. Also, something curious is that the "Accessibility little guy on the bottom is disable. I think I don't have more tools to try.

I've never been able to do that. When i first did a Win 11 install several years ago, I couldn't work around the problem of not having Wi-Fi drivers installed yet), at the same time needing some net access. Any suggestions here?

More recently I was able to connect to the net using an Ethernet to USB adapter.

you dont need a internet connection to install Windows from an USB ISO install drive.
you download the required download package/drivers for the system that requires them and place that download package/drivers on to a USB and then transfer the USB stick to the computer that requires the package/drivers and install them manually via the device manager.

or

use a Live Linux bootable USB distro with persistence storage enabled and download the required download package/drivers to the persistence storage on the Live Linux USB stick then transfer the USB stick to the system that requires the package/drivers and install them via the device manager.
