Update changed settings

A recent Windows 11 update in the last few days has changed my desktop photo and theme colours - which is slightly annoying. As well as that I'm getting an error on starting up - a pop up box that says something like "Cannot create shell notification". The photo is a quite nice tiger cub but I didn't want it.

Anyone?

Updates are often resetting User's settings, it would appear. It just makes the Updating process more of a nuisance.
The notification might be due to a Startup program or an icon pinned to the Taskbar - it is difficult to know what to suggest without knowing the name of the program that is causing it.

It's very annoying. I've re-set my desktop photo and colour scheme but am still getting the pop up - and yes it says "Cannot create shell notification icon". I'm wondering if it was Windows 7 games that were removed. I have them installed and may have had some icons for those on the task bar. Any way of working out which icon it is and how to get rid of the pop up?

Next time I switched on I looked carefully at the pop up and it said it was Panda USB vaccine. So I've uninstalled that and will reinstall it again. But the Windows games had also disappeared off the task bar.

Thanks Ghot - yes that's where I installed them from. They are still showing as installed - just the icons disappeared from the task bar.

When ever I have to do an uninstall/reinstall I always use REVO Uninstaller to do the uninstalling.
I make sure to "scan for leftovers" afterwards, as well.

REVO will leave you with a... "clean slate" for your reinstall. Much cleaner than just a normal uninstall.

Cheers. Panda USB vaccine is just a small programme and usually uninstalls cleanly but good point.
