OS
Win 11
This message has appeared on my start menu when I hold my mouse over my login name at the bottom left, as well as a big orange dot over my photo.
When I click to see what the message is, turns out it's Microsoft trying to persuade me to get an account.
I find the orange dot more than annoying! It can temporarily be removed by clicking "remind me later" but of course it's going to come back.
This kind of pestering by Microsoft REALLY annoys me.
Is there any way to permanently disable this latest nuisance?

Oh, sorry, I just found the answer on the forum.

It was interesting the way that Microsoft had turned advertising back on as well. I really dislike the new Microsoft. They are so persistently annoying. I bought Win 11 Pro to avoid this junk, yet they still insist on forcing it on us.

I get one (on my laptop) which is prompting me to back up my pc. I don't bother with the laptop, because there is nothing of importance on it, and I will do a clean install if there is a problem. The desktop is a different matter, however.

So it's not only for the MS Account. Some people would regard it as nannying behaviour, but it is easy to ignore.

Dell says this system is not Windows 11 capable, but Microsoft seems happy with it.

I think there are advantages to Pro (such as having the Local Group Policy Editor) but there's nothing "professional" about it. I assume the Enterprise versions treat users like adults but I have no recent experience with that.
