Hello.

My desktop computer has a wired ethernet connection but I also need it to access my WiFi connection in order to send documents to my printers.

When I log in the WiFi connection often fails to connect and I have to do it manually through Settings. I have checked the connect automatically box.

Not a big issue - more of a annoyance.

Any ideas?

Welcome, to the wonderful world of WiFi. If it were a living creature, I'd think it was a cat, with a mind of its own.

I call this one, "My alter ego".

But back to WiFi. Distance from your WiFi router can make all the difference in the world.
And I'd have to ask, what kind of WiFi device are you using on your computer?
I used one on my bedroom PC, that plugged into a USB port. I'd usually get maybe two bars, on a good day.
So out of frustration, I put that little device on a 6' USB extension cable and looped it over a curtain rod, getting it about 5' above the computer. That gave me a solid three bars and sometimes four. Heck,I was even picking up my neighbor's WiFi!
So, if your WiFi device is a USB plug-in, think about getting it up and away from your PC.
That's the best I can advise, without seeing your setup.
Cheers mate!
TM
PS: You might also look at the router itself. How is it positioned? Is it up as high as you can get it?
Does it have antennas and are they removable? I was using an old router with removable antennas, and I replaced those antennas with 9db gain, 12" long antennas. A neighbor 500' away was picking up my signal.

7dbGain.jpg This laptop has a WiFi dongle plugged into a USB port, and it's sporting a 7db gain antenna. The original antenna that came with that device, had virtually no gain at all.

Have you installed the newest wireless card driver from card manufacturer website?

In this video, i will guide you on how to reset TCP/IP to help restore Windows internet settings back to their default state.

Why do you need to use WiFi from your PC to send to the printer? Simply connect the printer to the same network you are using for the wired connection and you can then route through the wire to the router to Wi-Fi to the printer.

As in post #4
You need the Printers connected with Network connection, no need to log in apart from the initial setup.

Ethernet from your Desktop to the Router/WAP, and then by WiFi or Ethernet to the Printers.

That is one of the functions of the Router/WAP to route the network connections.

It seems you are using WiFi Direct to each printer which is rather tedious and inflexible.

I love it when someone post just do this and then doesn't explain how to do it. IMHO, if they knew how they wouldn't be asking.

If your printers and your wired desktop connection are on the same network there should be no reason you have to switch to wireless to print a document . In other words if your wired connection is on the the same router as your wifi connections you should be able to print
to your printer without issues . If not you have something else going on . Each device should have an ip address such as 192.168.0.10 with a default gateway (your router address ) of say 192.168.0.1 . As long as your wired connection is in the same address range say 192.168.0.12
you should be able to print to said printer without issues . If not the additional troubleshooting is needed . Some printers have software that is needed to be added to your desktop to function correctly . This should have come with the printer or be able to be downloaded from the manufacturer website . Good luck .

Seems like you have a wifi network extender in "router" mode instead of "access point" that's why your wired PC does not see your wireless printer. Router mode creates a separate network. Access point just extends the existing network.
