My Dell XPS8950 is set up to log on automatically without entering the password. This works every time. However, Windows does not recognize the password when I enter it for certain purposes...such as using the password manager in Google Chrome. There must be some way to figure out what password "netplwiz" is using to automatically sign in! Any help appreciated!

The entire idea for a password manager is that it secures your passwords and automatically entering a password means that there is no security, ergo no point in having a password manager :(

It is demonstrating the correct behaviours and operating correctly.

How do I find what WINPLWIZ is using as my Windows Password?

If you're using a MS account, you can't. But you can change the password so you'll know what the password is going forward. Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password - Microsoft Support

Once the password is changed on MS servers, this will change it everywhere and on all devices your MS account is used. The first time you login after password is changed & computer restarted, login using new password. Then set up netplwiz again.

Thanks...But how do I get to the 'lost password' option? Right now it just boots right on to the desktop.

Go here Microsoft account | Sign In or Create Your Account Today – Microsoft
login to your account with your MS user name. When password box comes up you should see something like forgot password or something like that. I forgot exact wording. When you select it,you get to recovery screen. It will use whatever method you have on file to verify your identity (text message or email) and will send you a verification code that you have to input on that screen.
